suspension lift questions

Hi guys, yes I know that there are many topics on lift and what not. But this is a forum to talk. So.... I have a 97 Sr5 auto that is bone stock with 3" daystar spacers front and rear. I was thinking about saving up the 1000$ for toytec lift with the coilovers but that is very expensive and I don't do crazy of roading or go fast over dirt. So I'm trying to build a nice budget set up. Tell me if I'm heading towards the right direction.

I found this on eBay RCD Bilstein 5100 Series Ride Height Adjustable Shocks Toyota Tacoma 96 04 | eBay

1. Will these fit on my 97 4runner ?
2. If I buy oem front struts and set the height to 0" can I add a 3" spacer ?
3. Can these rear shocks be used with ome 891 rear coils for 3"?
4. Are these good shocks all the way around ?
5. Are they good for off roading ?

My idea is to buy these shocks, buy ome 891 rear coils. Have the rear at 3" without any spacers and have the front set to 0" with leveling kit or have it set at 1.5" and have a 1.5" spacer to level out.

Any ideas, thoughts, solutions, tips ??

My friend said it's really not worth to get coilovers as it's made more for heavy off roading. I do plan on going out into the woods, but slow type off roading.

Are these any different then regular bilstein 5100?

I would say you're going to be much happier in the long run spending a few $100's more and get the BOSS lift. With the 15% off that Toytec offers to us members, it puts it under $1,000.

Toytec discounts on websites are 5%, just to clarify.
 
The toytec would be the easiest way. If you can piece together a lift it's cheaper but takes time. I am doing the TRD front with 1" spacers until I can afford 5100 billys for the front with lo 8 wrap and lo shocks in the rear. Get the diff drop. It's well worth it. For $30 it's a no brainer. The pan hard drop is up in the air but think I will be doing it I think. Might even make my own.
 
I was considering this same set (rcd billsteins) up to level my truck as i like the way it currently sits (+1 in front),but i need aprox 1"more in front to level it out .also was wondering what length those rear taco shocks are? my question is will they work with a three inch lc ? well for me i opted to go with the tundra 5100 and a new stock 4runner spring.which i will set it up at the middle setting and i am hoping this will give about 2" of lift at that setting using a 4runner stock spring and still maintain a good ride with some stiffer valving .and leave the rear springs the way they sit . the ratio of off road to on road driving i do favors a good driving shock more than a stiff off road set up for me . i have fox's on my gen1 tundra and they drive nicely on the road but you still notice its set up more for off road than an oem ride .i guess it boils down to your needs out of your suspension.
