Swap 98 REAR chrome bumper for plastic one from 99+?

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has swapped a pre-99 chrome rear bumper for a 99+ painted/plastic bumper.
I hate the chrome bumpers and want to go with plastic. Mine has a couple scratches and a dent, so of course it's getting rusted now.
I've read all about the fat lip vs. not fat but can't find anything on the back bumpers.

Yes they are all the same rear bumper, but they aren't plastic. They are metal just like the chrome ones but painted instead.
