Swapping connectors between front Turn indicators with side markers???

This morning I added another LED bulb in parallel with the wedge bulb. No luck - still not enough load, even though the guy behind the counter said that he uses wedge bulbs all the time as resistors.

Anyways, I wired in the stock turn signal bulb in parallel with the wedge bulb and it worked - knew that but had to do it anyway.

This brings things to a whole new level of redneck now. I am not about to start slashing my headlight housing to fit in the turn signal socket in the side marker. First of all, it's ghetto. Second of all, I think the bulb is too wide to sit in that part of the housing.

So, unless I can find a wedge 194 bulb that pulls 27 Watts, I'm going to scrap this idea and start recessing some halogen turn signals into the current bumper that I'm fabbing up.

Kind of feel defeated, but had to try.

Edit - one last try. Just ordered a set of inline resistors.

These in theory should work.

Inline resisters work. I have them installed because of my bumper not having the DRL/turns. I ended up installing some LEDs in my grill and in-line resistors from the auto parts store keep me going at normal flash speeds.

Have you looked into swapping out the Limited Mirrors with the signal indicators already in them? I'm thinking Toyota will already have the pre-wire there in the door just waiting to plug them in.

Ah forgot some places still mandate DRL despite them showing to have no benefit...That'd be tricky...

I will try and see if I can find the study I read a while back, it came out a year or two ago and spanned from early 2000's I think. They concluded that DRLs really did not provide much benefit vs. non-DRL vehicles in most day-time conditions. Was interesting to me.

I don't know if this will help but they make a relay that is used if you have led tail lights to connect your trailer lights to to solve the different resistance problems. The device is sold at most trailer places. It might be worth checking out.
