Switched light wire in dash?

I came up empty on a search... I'm hooking up my AOB switches and need a wire to tap into under dash (drivers side) to light switches up when I turn lights on. Thanks!

In the fuse box? Using Add-a-circuit.

Ok, nothing really, in the fuse box.

So, an idea, F22 pin 20?

Actually, I think tapping off "10A TAIL" in the fuse box will work. This is probably your best bet.

Thanks Jicko. I think my head exploded trying to understand those diagrams haha. I'll try 10a but first guess I need to pick up a tester.

Forget about those diagrams then, there is a VERY QUICK way to test.

1) start your car, turn off your light, go out to observe your taillight and side marker

2) turn on your light, go out to observe your taillight and side marker

3) turn off your car, unplug the "10A TAIL" fuse

4) start your car, turn on your light, go out to observe your taillight and side marker

This should be a quickie to tell you if you are on the right track.

PS. you can try the "7.5A PANEL" fuse too, that may even be more appropriate, as I think all the other switches lighting goes thru that fuse

Check for an unused factory plug behind dash panel where the other factory switches are, it may be bundled with them. If not, you can tie into anyone of the other switches that illuminate when you turn your lights on.

Prior to making any connections, always test with a multimeter, failure to do so could damage your vehicles electrical system!!! On my 2012, factory green wire (+) will go to 12 volts when you turn your headlight switch on to parking lights or headlights. Factory gray wire is ground (-), this is what controls the dimmer function. Not sure if they changed colors for 2014, but testing will confirm one way or another.

Also, if whatever you are controlling with your AOB switches draws more than 3 amps you must use a relay or you'll burn out the switch.

Thanks everybody. BTW I'll be using a Spod for powering everything. I just gotta customize wiring harness to work with AOB switches and find a wire to tap into for dash lights. To be safe I'm Gona pick up a tester tomorrow before I go any further.

i followed what [MENTION=81322]barryhiram[/MENTION] said it worked out great for 2 switches.
