I was kind of in a rush when I put the lights on and did all the wiring (problems at work... on a sunday). I didn't have time to troubleshoot the problem and I was just happy to have them on the truck. Last night was warm and I knew it'd get colder so i figured I'd give it a shot and it was pretty silly what I did.

The lights are yellowish and stand out more next to the Razo bulbs but I can turn them on independently of the headlights. They are very bright for their size (brighter than the headlights) and I think they were worth it. I have a set of H1 Razo bulbs that I picked up for my M3 but I might try them out in the Hella lights.

Bobby, they look great! I think they look bigger than toyotadude77's lights and that is really important to me. Now, I just have to decide if it is worth all the bracket trouble.

Thanks. Yes, the housing is bigger than the 2100xt. That's the reason I had trouble fitting them. It's kind of a PITA to get the bolts and spacers (I needed over 1" of spacers) but in the end, they work great and look pretty good.

Since you have the chrome bar, the 2100xt might look better since it has a silver housing but it's $150 (cheapest I've seen) compared to $48 (cheapest I've seen for FF75 now).

Working on the bracket wasn't too hard if you have a dremel or similar tool. It probably took 1/2 hr for both brackets.

I also bought some wire guides to clean up the wiring from the lights to behind the grille and the wiring behind the grille. I used lots of zip ties too.

Thanks for the details. Yes I have a chrome bar, but I have a black 4runner, so I don't think the black would look too bad. Saving a hundred and getting a bigger housing versus modding the bracket and spacers equals FF75 imo.

True. If you can find better bolts, then you wouldn't need the spacers and modifying the brackets weren't hard. I got them b/c I found a set for $38 shipped and thought I'd try them out.

They do have a good beam pattern and last night they worked well. I didn't get into any really dark streets but in the lighted streets, they were clearly visible. I tried with the headlights off too and they're bright enough to run w/o them.

I think those hellas are a little weak. They don't seem to put out much light. I would definelty go with the the PIAA's.

I thought so too at first but after a few nights of trying them out in really dark roads, they're really bright. They go much further than the headlights. I would definitely recommend them, especially for the price. They use H7 bulbs and you can replace them with Silverstars or something else.

Got it from AutoZone. They have lots of different colors but the light is really bright. Luckily, it burnt out so I don't get blinded inside when I turn on the lights.

A question on the lighting. How did you hook it up to run independant of the reg. lights?

It was my fault actually. I switched the load and power wires by mistake. I burnt out a fuse too. I'm kinda glad I did though because the light was pretty damn bright.

I had the lights hooked up straight to the battery. I'll show you at the next meet.
