On my way home yesterday I heard a horrible grinding sound and could feel it throughout truck. Pulled into a service garage, he jacked up the front and the drivers side tire had 2" of play! For truck took me home :-( I have never had a wheel bearing go out like that without a single warning before. Crazy

Sorry to hear man, but look at it this way, it was on asphalt and not while wheeling or on a camping trip with the Fam.
Ikr! Just bad timing and now I have to go find all the parts and pay someone to press them instead of ordering from @Bumper2BumperAuto like I wanted. I need my truck immediately! I am so busy with work it's unreal. Worked 22 hours straight night before last, and consistently working 15-18 a day for the last 3 weeks too. Good, but UGH! lol

If the bearing was as u say 2" of play
I think it would be unwise to reuse the hub
The race is mist likely chewed up

Also change the knuckle dust shield or you will be doing this again allot sooner then you want to
Yes, good advice. I bought a hub, bearing, inner and outer seals and have a mechanic that is going to press them for me. Cost me $150 for parts and $40 to press it in. Have to wait til morning for the hub. I would've ordered it from one of the guys on here but I need it now. Tomorrow sucks, but will have to do. I run a business and I am very busy right now. sucks.

I have that too after changing mine... Doesn't seem to leak much and I don't know how to fix it yet, lol, plus I want to get gears and 35's so I figure I'd change all seals then.
As you can see in the pictures I'm probably lucky the wheel didn't fall off or seize right up! It was totally done, tore up, and in desperate need of replacing. The inner seal was torn apart, was rusty and dirty and water inside too. It never made a sound, but I think this has been going out for some time now. Sheesh.

Make sure u swap in a fresh knuckle seal
Check! All new parts are installed. Just have to put tire on. Will post a few more pics in a bit.
New bearing all installed. Went for a test drive and noticed two things immediately. First, when hitting the brakes before I was getting some vibration and also it would randomly pull to the left at times. Now it is smooth as silk, no pulling, no vibration, all great! Wish that damn bearing would've made some noises before it decided to puke on me.
