New springs going on! Tacoma TRD coils. Drivers side comparison to stock coil.
What year Taco are those off of? what is the expected/hopeful lift?
anything has to be better than stock coils with however many over 100K miles on them...
cannot wait to see final product!!!
imp:Not sure on year, but 05+ Tacoma coils will fit ours. They provide 1-1.5" of lift and are a slightly heavier spring. There is a thread on Tacoma spring swap if you search it. There are 2 kinds of Tacoma coils. Progressive and linear. These are the regular, linear coils.What year Taco are those off of? what is the expected/hopeful lift?

Probably a dumb question, but when you swap the coils for taller ones, its there anything else you have to raise? Adjust? Change out?Stock wore out craptastic coils!
No but my alignment was already off a little and it's always a good idea to do one after lifting/lowering as it changes angles.
Ok, new coils are in and I gained almost 2"! Man my stock coils were shot!
Also managed to get my superbumps in! Old bumpstops twisted off... So I had to make a hole, cut the welded nut with a Sawzall, use a cold chisel and pop that old welded nut out, then I used shiny stainless steel bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts to install them. Shouldn't go anywhere!
and here's what the old bumpstops look like. Hard a steel I might add....

Oh I meant to say the rear coils, I thought that was what you were doing, do yoi have to get an alignment if you put taller rear coils in sorry
Oh gotcha! Not as big an issue. It would take quite a bit of lift to really affect it enough to require anything. Doesn't change the angles like it does in the front.

Thanks man, I think I'll try to find some fj coils they're like an inch taller right
You'll gain .5-1" depending on how far your current springs are sagging, and you won't have any issues with needing an alignment either. :fish2:

It would be a good idea to do. I had a 2.5" spacer lift/stock coils to Icon overland coils, pushed up the rear a little more, and started to do uneven tire wear. Just keep an eye on the fronts if you do.

It's got an aluminum spacer on the front coils I guess to level it, I haven't messed with it yet, but I know the guy advertised this truck as lifted lol

Well I need to aim my headlights now. Went for a drive last night and my headlights are really pointing up now! Unfortunately it was blowing sleet and there was no way I was aiming them! Lol
Front is so much higher, I can actually see traffic lights without craining my neck now! Looks pretty level even though the front is about an inch lower. Ride is fantastic now, no more tire rub, I can see better, it doesn't lean in corners anymore, and I am very happy with it!

Thank you. It's all custom. Doug thorley headers, dual exhaust with catalytic converters deleted, magnaflow race series muffler. It's pretty nasty!
