T4R 1996 back window and back wiper help

I need a 4Runner surgeon to identify maybe what's wrong:
since this morning my back window and back wiper don't work (but the back windshield washer spray works). The back defrost also seems to work well / at all....
I guess it's got to do with the bundle of wires in the rubber protective tube between the body of the car and the actual hatchback door?

Hmm strange that the defrost would still work. Usually mine doesnt work then i realize my back window inst completely rolled up... Does the rear window work with your key in the rear lift gate? Try that for the window, as far as the wiper goes i cant help you there.

Just pull the rubber boot up and expose the wiring, you should immediately see if the wires are broken. My license plate lights would turn off when opening the hatch as well before I fixed the wiring. Try rolling the window up using the key and then try the wiper again.

Bump, maybe someone on here, that is local to you, can help out.

Or if you have any friends that are good with electrical.

Maybe a fuse went out? Have you checked fuses?

Almost the same issue

I have a 99 that I just replaced the rear gate on. I have all the wires hooked up and have checked at the boot for broken wires. My window will roll up and down from the front dash switch. I do not have a key for the back yet. The wiper will not come on but the washer will spray. Also the back dome light will not come on with the door opening but will come on with the switch. Any ideas??
