T4R hates Siri.

At least that's what I think must be the case.

There was another thread asking a different question about Siri than this, and I apologize if this is more of an Apple post, but it doesn't seem to me that the navigation Entune being shipped on 2014 SR5 premiums (which I believe is different than non-navigation Entune) wants to play well with Siri on my iPhone 5s.

What I mean is when I activate Siri while Bluetooth is also enabled (playing music), the Entune system shows on the screen that I'm making a phone call and then automatically/immediately hangs up the "call", shutting down Siri before I have a chance to say anything.

I think Entune must just hate Siri because her speech recognition skills are far superior.

Anyone else experience this and know what might be causing it??

Thanks!

siri and pretty much any oem system that isn't programmed to specifically recognize siri wont interact correctly.

that's why some of the more expensive vehicles have a "siri eye free" feature, but I have seen it start to trickle down to regular vehicles now.

I know lexus is suppose to get an update this year for siri eye free and I think some Honda's are gonna get this feature this year also.

the only time I use Siri is when I read something on the internet that says something like "ask Siri this." Most recently it was to ask her "what does the fox say" a few times in a row.

More on the this subject, I too have this issue but do you also have connectivity issues sometimes. I'll go through spurts where my phone connects and disconnects on the '14 entune. The Bluetooth is awful with ios7

Google's Now works with bluetooth. I use it instead of siri 99% of the time. Since my phone is jailbroken too, I can launch it anywhere using NowNow.

Thanks guys, gonna mentally put this one in the Ce La Vie category for now.

siri is, for lack of a better description, a complete *****.

Hahaha, yep...

Haha, this is totally the reaction I usually get whenever I mention all things Siri to any of my friends. "Seriously, you still use that?"

Can't say that's the case for me. Haven't yet had it disconnect and it's otherwise worked great for me! Knock on wood...

Maybe the 4Runner is just trying to protect you from a horribly implemented and completely useless "personal assistant". Siri is the feature that got me to switch from iPhone to Android.
