T4Rex. Build Thread.

CB install:

a couple days ago I installed my FREEBEEE Cobra CB w/ Firestik, the Cbs internal speaker didnt work that great but $12 bucks fixed that with an external speaker from pilot...I also bough a new 12 ft coax and mounted the antenna to the bumper. Pics will be up soon....

Reasons in behind installing in bumper....honestly the rear bumper is beat 2 $hiT and i plan on replacing it soon enough....

(i will get some pics up soon, cause i kno everyone on here loves PICS LOL)

Here is a few quick pics of my cb radio install....

- Cobra 19DX II -

I decided to put an external speaker because the speaker on cb isn't loud at all...
252239_429398710449209_1144424265_n.jpg

I installed my antenna into the bumper, it works well for the time being. I plan on getting another bumper because this one is pretty fubared! I also installed a tractor light for a backup light. Tinting my tail lights was not a good ideal!! :bash: Going to replace them later on as well...

Also put in a small power converter, using industrial strength velcro.

This has happen to all of US!!

Beautiful! This makes me want to plasti dip my front grille and emblems!

Thanks man...I have been trying to find another grill, for the satoshi mod. Cheapest one at a junkyard i have found was 40 bucks and after seeing that BFAD only paid $10 bucks for his I'll be damned if i pay over $20!! I am a tight wad man...have 2 kids so my 4Runner is lucky to see Mods lol!!

Loving the truck! Pretty funny your breather looks identical to mine with the red hose and all, great minds think alike eh? I dig the rollbar too. I'd love to do one but with my soon to be cargo box it wouldn't fit unless I chopped it all up, which is definitely plausible.

Ha! I also scored a radar detector from some dude cause I pulled his 01 Chevy silverado out of a rut...ended up breaking my small tow strap but got him out with the heavier one. Not much but works great and its a Cobra!! Will throw up some pics tomorrow of the install.
I am gonna have to get a fuse box or something!!!! SOON

Removed the extra foglights and matched up the lower valence with the satoshi mod...going to be using the extra fog lights on the sides of 4Runner for some make-shift rock lights!!
537600_433374546718292_608719823_n.jpg

When it first started:
you know what a stock 97 model grill looks like so, i didn't take any pics of it. Here are a few pics of the center of the grill cut out and the sanded product.

I used a skil saw to cut out the center....went pretty fast and simple...
198035_431238696931877_1395772688_n.jpg

I have never used bondo before so there was no way, I was going to show those pics!! :D
217952_431238683598545_1501963442_n.jpg

Here is a pic of the other side....
189914_431238693598544_739970325_n.jpg

Well, after alot of sanding and a few coats of self etching primer, some more sanding and a few coats of Plati-Dip this is what it looked like finished!

Still not happy with the way it completely looks, gotta find a bigger TOYOTA emblem:sniper:

I bought a re-charge kit today for my K&N air-filter, and re charged that POS....going to clean MAF sensor in morning and stop by the local dealership and get a TRD throttle body gasket. Then hopefully when it comes it clean that up, along with a few other things under the hood and hopefully my gas mileage will stop sucking nutts! Oh ya gonna probably grab some plugs & wires....

finally got my new tire, to replace the one that had a BFS in it....some of you guys may have read the thread i posted about it....

I had to drive around with a plugged sidewall for almost a week, waiting on Good Year to call and tell me my TIRE was in....but after 1 phone call on Friday & 2 phone calls Saturday, my tire finally arrived this MORNING!!!

But they made up for it.....
602950_442740825781664_1001924087_n.jpg
thought i got a better pic...i bought a Good Year DuraTrac E rated 265/75/16...Original Price is 239.21...I didnt pay that much...
Good boys...

I read in another post, that some guys were running at 3000 RPMs @ 80 MPH? I drove to lexington today and noticed that while holding the gas steady at 80mph i was only at 2500 RPMs....is anything wrong here??

Maybe your speed is off due to bigger tires?

i dont have very big tires...I am only running 265/75/16s and my gps says that i am running at 80 mph as well....so dont think thats a problem...was kinda thinkin just the opposite...maybe the guys that are running @ 3000 RPMs @ 80 Mphs are running 33s or 35s?? I usto have a set of Good Year DuraTracs that were 33s on a 02 T4RSport, but cant remember if my RPMs were higher?

Retro-Fit E-Locker!!!!

Well, today i was cruising along on the wonderful craigslist and seen a Toyota E-locker out w/ 3rd member and i believe it has 4:10 Gears...not real sure???

Believe me by no means am i a mechanic!! So i am definately going to be asking millions of questions!!! I have been lookin around at all the threads about retro-fitting the ELOCKER so I hope i have as much success as everyone else....

My biggest concern is that i do NOT have a ELOCKER HOUSING...i have read some threads that says you can modify the NON elocker housing to work.....

Here are a few pics of the Elocker & 3rd member....please tell me what i am MISSING and what I need to get? I also need to find out how you figure out what your gear ration is in the front Diff??

Here's a side profile pic of the housing, Unfortunately i have nothing to plug into that plug...The guy only had this and the switch for the inside of the cab....
