"Finished" my rack today. We had to leave the lake so the paint got messed up in the rush. Also Rustoleum flat black auto paint (for racing stripes) is gunmetal not black. I still need to do the wind fairing, light bar, and cap the ends. I had to drive 2 hours home from Alabama with what sounded like a C-130 howling on my roof. It definitely went better this time around and was really cheap since I had all my tools already.

I would have liked to have gotten a 140 but my pockets weren't deep enough this time and i wanted to buy new. I figure the handy mig is something i can learn with and if i get into needing to weld heavier gauges I'll move up. Truthfully I went online and bought a Harbor freight 90 amp flux welder first and before it got delivered i decided to order the handy mig because I wanted to be able to use it for years to come and have a quality tool. Just like you I'm addicted to it and would weld everything in sight if I could lol

It's not thread jacking if I get involved Haha. I wish I could run gas much cleaner welds but yea I'm gonna try and get my metal this week and start this weekend. I wish my buddy got the Hobart my school has one and it's so much better being able to select more than 4 heats.

LOL that is so funny my dad said the exact same thing today. It's a spec house and I guess that's high class alabama housing for you. I actually paid for my speakers by removing all of the chair rail molding in our kitchen.

I left that out because of my sunroof. I don't like the sunroof because it rattles but I may as well use it since I have it.

It's been a busy weekend. I got my lightbar mounted and wind fairing made and mounted. The fairing makes a huge difference with the wind noise.

I also got a good deal on a Rugged Ridge 8500 lbs winch. I hit a snag though literally when I melted part of the wire. Turns out they had powder coated the ground terminal on the motor and the cable was carrying current and shorting on the bumper. Luckily I just scraped it off and it's working fine now although I have to get a new cable now.

Any tips on getting the CBI bumper straight? I have the exact same bumper and no matter how much I adjust it does not seem to line up straight at all. Installing some 1/2" body spacer soon and going to attempt at reinstalling the bumper again.

Mine isn't perfectly symmetrical but it is level with the car. My tips would be jack stands and a buddy. That way you can mess with the bolt, he can hold it, and the stands keep him from dropping it on you.

Yeah, I tried adjusting it with 3 floor jacks with a buddy. Had one in the middle and 2 on the side and did small adjustments and it just did not want to stay center. I'll try it again.

Yea it took me two tries. You probably already know this but you wanna leave like a 3/4" gap between it and the body panels to accommodate frame flexing.

Well my summer is finally here and I've been doing a lot of work.I re-sealed my headlights since both were getting condensation in them and did the cluster led swap. Big thanks to [MENTION=20116]darkie3495[/MENTION] for the write-up.

I also started rebooting my CV axles with the CVJ heavy duty ones since my old ones were torn. Unfortunately somewhere in the process the thread on the passenger side spindle got damaged and I can't find a die big enough to fix it. I bought a CV from O'Reilly's but after taking it apart and seeing the major differences between it and a Toyota OEM I refuse to put it in my car. The inner joint bearing-things on toyota's pivot while the O'Reilly's ones just move in and out. Also it looks like the same grease is used on the inner and outer joints and the outer joint is much harder to move than the toyota ones. Unfortunately I have to go to the trouble of ordering a new inner boot and rebooting the shaft if I want to return it which would be a huge PIA. I'm now waiting on a new outer shaft from the dealership which is supposed to come tuesday at the earliest .

Where did you get a heavy duty boot? We have been having trouble keeping boots on our 3rd generation 4runner. Every time we play in the mud the boot either rips or the clamp comes off and the inners are exposed.

They're from CVJ just call and they'll ship you some. They're about double what normal boots are though.

Almost stock the day we got it back in march.

My first mod was my speakers but I don't really have any pics so here's my next mod: Satoshi, a Nice Coat of Wax, and Duratracs.

Then I replaced the lights with white LED's and installed a fire extinguisher and some Bluesea USB ports.

Gunmetal Headlights

Got hit on the I-85 N exit but the insurance money paid for my lift and bumper so it's all good.

Custom Subwoofer Box and Trim Panel

Got my lift (Bilsteins and OME 895 and 886) installed by Tire South.

Trips

My friend took me on my first wheeling trip at Cashes Creek RD. Nice beginner trail but no need for 4WD.

Second time we went to Beasley Knob. Had to turn around like 3 times.
