We have prentice cooper which is a big one, we did have "big fork" but I heard that was shut down, and I'm sure there are more but I just don't know of them but prentice cooper has prob 15+ trails! Ranging from moderate to like dune bugee stuff

I've been real busy since my last post. I'm saving up for 275/70R18 Kanati Mud hogs and am planning a hybrid rear bumper and tire swingout build which will hopefully happen in the next two months.

My battery died so I replaced with a group 34 super start platinum. Reasons were 3 year warranty, 775 cca, cheaper and I shop at O'Reilly's normally. I had to redo the ground to the chassis but I'd say it was worth it.

I found some nice logging roads over by our lake house on Lake Wedowee and then the day after I went and hit Beasley Knob. Unfortunately a rock thought I needed some body work done.

Bought a North Tool sandblaster and got to work on the rust on the trailer today. Ended up getting the front primed.

Completely forgot to mention I got a Lincoln Handy Mig 140. Big upgrade from the little flux core buzz box I used to borrow. I also got what I think is a 125 tank of a friend but its pretty old looking so I don't know if the gas place will fill it .

Lookin' nice! Headlights/interior swap was something I was looking @... Did you get your headlights off eBay? Also, did you only swap the gauge cluster or all interior lights? Would love to see some interior pics overall if you did either.

I did all the interior lights and no the headlights are retrofitted. Most headlights off eBay are lower quality.

Got any pics of the interior? I plan on just retrofitting 3mm's with resistors as the neo3's aren't available in white, see any potential issues there?
 
Started a new project. At first I was gonna cut the center of the bumper out and do a hybrid bumper. Then I was gonna do tubular corners. Then I decided why not full plate? I'm a little worried about the accuracy of cardboard but I think it'll be fine. I'm gonna build the shell first and then go from there with gussets and stuff. I got a lot of inspiration from crozfab's bumper.

Since I'm posting this all at once if you're going to quote could you please shorten the quote to the secion of interrest.

I started by modeling it out of cardboard AKA CAD (cardboard assisted design). Once that was done I took a stab at Fusion 360 (not solidworks since I have a Mac) but that proved to be more trouble than it was worth so I ended up going back to paper and pencil.

I then was finally able to get my money's worth out of my school tuition. The school bought me the sheet of 3/16" plate all I had to do was supply the other parts and the gas consumables. We have a Miller Spectrum, Miller 250, and Hobart Handler at school but we only use flux core. Had a little mishap with some leaves, a sawhorse, and the plasma cutter when I forgot the horse was still underneath.

My buddy and I put in 3 and 1/2 hours and it's finally looking like a bumper. Went through 4 grinding wheels in the process and I'm dead tired.

Now I just have to put a lip on the bottom make some fender liners and get the brackets fabbed up. Then it's onto the tire carrier and hitch.

Took it home today. Didn't exactly fit in the car though. I got the bottom piece welded on. I'm trying to decide if I should grind the welds or just leave them since it's the bottom. Let me know what y'all think. Worst case I can go back later and grind them down. Test fitted it. It's now a bit tighter but I forgot to weld the frame rails on before putting the lower lip on so I now have to go back in and cut a section out of the bottom. I still have to weld some angle iron between the sides and the frame to brace it. Instead of making a hitch as I originally planned I just bought the factory small one. I also decided against doing d-ring receivers since my welder can't do 1 in so I'll just stick with my hitch d-ring thing. Moving onto the tire carrier arm now which was crooked on the first try. These are just pictures I've been taking along the way.

Found the time to put in my OME front and the OME 5th gen 440 lbs rear. I forget the front part number but they ride great with my 886's. The rear is 898 and 60080. It's pretty stiff right now but it'll hopefully be good once I get the swingarm built. Unfortunately the swaybar came undone and made a mess. It ended up having to take it to GAS in woodstock to have my buddy remove the axle which was really really stuck in there. I then rebooted the axle and stuck it back in. Hopefully once I get my nice hose clamps for my CV axles I can finally get back out on the trails.

And I finished the tire swingout (still gotta add a jerry can mount, lights and stuff, and a full sized spare) and got a good deal on an RTT. I worked a bit on the trailer and got the frame and underside rhino lined but haven't started any of the cool stuff yet. I've just got too many projects.
