How'd you end up in Colorado?

Real waterfront? The best way to live. Absolutely the best.
I've grown to like Colorado. Simpler life. Slower pace. Less expensive. The mountains are nice but take 2nd place to LI Sound and such. Grew up on the water. Zooming around in an old 13' whaler when your 13 is pretty effing awesome. Real independence. Real freedom. Real adventures. We'd take it across to Connecticut, explore estuaries, meet friends at the beach a few towns over, waterski. Good clean fun. Before video games.
Moved to Boulder with a girlfriend in late 90's. She was a great girl and a great girlfriend. I was a complete prick and did everything to drive her away short of chasing her with a stick. Still can't figure out what the F was going on inside my head. Jesus, I was a prick. Just a good old fashioned dbag.
I stuck around. Moved to Denver. Was back home in CSH over the weekend. I am in Rye at the moment. Sticking around for Thanksgiving.
The water. Miss the water. I think part of it is the lack of moisture in the air in colorado. It is dry dry dry. Sucks the moisture out of you. Like a sponge in an oven. I'm back east a bunch so I get plenty of water time. Haven't been to Jones Beach or RM Beach for at least 25 years. Sometimes we'd go to RM field 5 early Sunday morning with a picnic breakfast. Leaving at 10 am we passed miles of cars headed the other way. Def the smart way to do it.
What kind of boat(s) ya got? Sail much?

Hobie Cats are great little pieces of equipment. Easy to maintain. Easy and fun to sail. Good acceleration. Quick. Simple.

Haha that sounds right. I put a couple grand into mine and totally rebuilt it, and it's still nowhere near what the high performance trick skis are like. I started working on the 4Runner when the only thing left to do was the really expensive upgrades like doing an engine swap, which requires replacing essentially everything and the hull I have isn't worth putting a powerplant like that in. Course, now I'm at about the same point with the 4Runner where I've done all the cheaper modifications and anything requires big bucks

It's good motivation to graduate though, someday I'll be able to afford all my hobbies... one semester at a time
