Door Handle Fail

I replaced the front driver's side actuator motor on my 2017 last night. That part was simple and all seems to be in working order as my key fob can again lock and unlock the door.

However, now the outside door handle is not working. Did I knock something loose when removing the actuator? I'm sure it is a simple fix, but I have not had time to look into the issue.

If your 4runner is a 2017 that’s a 5th gen, this is the 3rd gen section so you probably won’t get much help here

After cruising through some posts on replacing the door lock actuator motors, I have decided to do it. One reason, my key fob crapped out and to program the new one, I have to be able to cycle the locks.

Before I throw myself into this, any last words of advice or tips? Is this a 6 pack job or a 12 pack with a bottle of Excedrin? LOL

4 years late, but thought I'd include this for those googlers like me.

You can still get it into programming mode by manually using the key in the lock rather than the lock/unlock switch on the door. So you don't need to have a functioning actuator to program it.

Though it also means your fob won't lock/unlock that door so it's a bit of a wash :doh:
