Tacoma 5100s on my Runner?

I have a set of rear 5100s from an 08 Taco and was wondering if anybody can confirm if they will or will not fit my 98 4runner with ome 906 rear spring and stock bumps. I know the only sure way is to mount them and cycle the suspension but it would save a lot of work if somebody knew for sure. thanks!

where did you get the info? it looks close, the shock body is only 1.4" longer than my stock one?

Oh, 2nd gen! Didn't see that the first time. That may actually work. The first gen tacomas have an eye for the top mount, but the 2nd gens use a stud on the top. 3rd gen 4runners use a stud too.

With the shock being about an inch and a half longer than stock, you will need 2.5-3" of lift for it to fit properly.

hmmm okay, cool. I'm gonna go throw em on and cycle it and see how it looks. I may end up going to a 3" lift and 285s anyway > I'll let you know what I find.

I would wait for the lift first, dont put them on until then. Running longer shock on stock suspension, you can bottom the shocks out and damage them very easy.

I'm already on OME 906s but it doesn't matter anyway. They are much longer extended length and the bottom mount hole is way different. you would need probably 2" taller bumpstops to accommodate these.
