Tacoma Bumper on my 4Runner??

It looks like we'd simply have to just drill a hole on our T4R bracket where it bolts to the taco bumper, and i'm not sure what we'd have to do with the lights, maybe replace them out with a taco assembly, or at least clip the tail and rewire it.

I can't wait until the weather gets a little warmer so I can go try to explore some salvage yards and see what I can come up with, but its def. cool to know that I can also look for tacos not just T4R's.

i didn't even have to drill any holes, it was a very very simple installation, the only extra tool that was required was a sawzall for 3 little skip welds on the stock bumper plate, then the taco bumper mounts slide right on to our frame rails like butter, the whole thing took me like 1.5 hours for wiring of turn signals and everything, also i found it easier to install as per instructions as opposed to the write up, meaning it's best to install the turn signals and rubber bumpers and all of that before putting the bumper on the truck.

just be warned though that on some trucks you do have to drill the mount holes, i just know i was happy when i did mine because i didn't have to.

I wonder if you can mix and match them up from different gens, or if you have to pretty much stick within the same gen as what you're trying to swap it to/from?

As far as the Tacoma bumpers are concerned there are 3 different front bumpers, 95-97, 98-00 and 01-04 they will all bolt up with the correct brackets but the bumpers and valances go hand in hand, ie you cant run a 98 bumper with an 01-04 valance. 01-04 bumpers would look a little goofy though, they curve out from the front to match the grill and you would be able to see between the grill and bumper. The 4runner bumpers are 96-98 and 99-02 and as far as I can tell they use the same brackets.

Thank you all for the help. I will be checking them out as soon as I get the rest of the 4runner fixed and can drive it to a yard to test fit a Taco bumper.
