Your Italian's pretty good! It's probably much better than mine, as I never lived in Italia. My parent's moved here in the 60's, I was born in Canada and have only visited Italia once so I grew up speaking the Trevisano dialect.

So what did you do there for 'more than 5 years'? School? Work?

I think so too (LED Tails). They looks awesome !!!!

I moved there, studied then work in Rome. By the way, in 10 min working time from Vaticano. Then I moved to Canada couple of years ago. Now I'm in Toronto.

Okay, something just isn't right. I got these today, spent a lot of time installing them, and the LED part worked GREAT.....


but, the turn signals and the reverse bulbs didn't work at all!!! I tried everything, but nothing seemed to work. So I had to put my stock taillights back on so I could have turn signals. Is there something I'm missing? I'm so frustrated right now, I'm tempted to just send these back to Partznet or sell them on ebay. The LED's looked amazing, but no matter what I tried, the turn signals and reverse bulbs never worked! :bash:

hehe, it sounds like you didn't plug the brake light (L.E.D.) socket plug into the socket?


So, you have to remove all three plugs from your old taillight and use them for your new taillights.

Did all of the lights work for you?! I plugged in the LED socket, and the LED part of the taillights worked great, but the turn signals didn't work and the reverse lights didn't work. What am I doing wrong?!

Okay, another point of information... Were the '06 taillights supposed to have their own bulb sockets? Mine didn't, so I just took the socket and bulbs from my stock tails, and put them in the new ones. Maybe I need different sockets? I can't tell by the pictures, but it looks like AlexJet's each have their own sockets.

You have to twist the socket into the tail light just like you did with your old tails. You don't simply connect the leads and it works. The turn signals and lights feed off the same way the old tails were setup.

You have to use the old sockets from your old tails for turn and reverse. You're on the right path.

That's exactly what I did. I took my time and made sure everything looked right, and got everything put back together, and then... I had no turn signals, and when I tried to turn the left or right turn signal on, it acted as if the bulb was missing (front bulb flashed really fast). Could it be possible that these taillights are defective? Does something need to be reset after the new tails are installed? I'm at a loss here, I'm not even sure what to try next.

I hope you've followed my write-up step by step. You should remove the turn signal and reverse bulbs from your old light and install them to the new one and plug the LED connector to main wiring harness from the vehicle, then put the last wiring housing into the socket. Looks like you plug it in, but didn't put the wiring housing in the taillight. It has to be plug in and turn for 1/4 or something like that to fix it in place, like other bulbs. If you not doing it, the connectors for your turn signals and reverse are not connected and they are not working.

The lights are coming without bulbs and sockets as they all do. You have to use your old ones or buy a new one. I just used my old ones.

That's it!!! I didn't put the LED connector back into the hole and turn it to lock it into place, no wonder nothing worked like it was supposed to!!! God I feel so stupid now, all that time wasted last night. THANK YOU again for the help. I think I'm going to take off work early today just to get these installed and working.

You were correct, I drove home during my lunch break and installed the taillights for the second time, and this time I remembered to connect that socket and lock it into place, and as you know, it worked!!!

This should be a lesson for all, remember to read the directions carefully and look at the pictures closely, and don't try to do projects like these at night in the dark because you're bound to miss one 'minor' detail.

Thanks again for the help guys, and to think I was about to send these things back. They look 1000x better than the '05 taillights, definitely worth the money.

This may me also my fault, that I wasn't so clear. Sometimes when you thinking of something global, you might think that those details so obvious and everybody already knows them, so you're not mentioned them.
But, anyway I'm happy for you, that you've done it before sending back

What's going on here...so far this thread is almost 5 pages, and only 4 of us that i can see have got the LED tails!

^ that's the problem.. MONEY. I won't be doing this project in the near future as I have my JDM taillights on and I love it. $300 for replacement lights with LED? nah. Maybe If I NEED to get them replaced... like being rearended.

The way I looked at it was this... When I saw all of the changes made on the '06 4Runner, I said to myself, "the only thing I really want are those LED taillights". So now I have them, and I don't have to go trade my 4Runner in for a new one to get them, so it actually saved me money in the end. :
