How much did you get it for? Where? Like to change mine as well. Thanks

I got them from my local dealer for Cdn $455 (~US $410).
Here is part#:
Left - 81561-35280,
Right - 81551-35320

Done!!!

This mod is a breeze to do! 2 - 10mm nuts for each tail light, thru the interior access hatch. Follow the instructions from alex on the connectors and that is that!

On my 2003 LTD v6 there was nothing to do except plug and play! I had slightly different part numbers, but they were just fine.

Are the old lenses sellable on ebay or something?

is 06 4runner really uses led in tail light, because they look to bright, i was thinking that the are reflector (plastic) in the shape of leds

YES, '06+ Tail lights are LED for Parking/Brake and regular incandesce bulbs for Reverse and Turn Signal. They also have nice reflector around LEDs.

i bought my 06 4runner in september and all my friends were impreesed with the tail lights, but i was thought they are just reflectors not actual leds. but thank you for clearing that for me.

Did anyone else have a hard time taking off the 2 nuts from the old light fixture?

Maybe there's an easier way and I'm missing it?

Well, I broke my right rear tail light lens last weekend on my 04. Seems like a logical time to upgrade to LED rears instead of spending $$ on the old style. :biggrin2:

Thanks to this thread, the upgrade will be a piece-o-cake. :bigok:

Mine are installed! :bigok:

At first I thought I had a problem with the electrical plugs not matching up. I freaked out and came back here and read the write up, thinking I got the wrong part number lights.

Then I pulled my head out  and realized I had to move the middle light socket over to the new lens housing and plug the new LED connector into where the old light bulb was. The plug on the old socket obviously fits back onto the wiring harness plug just fine.:biggrin2:

Big improvement even during the day. Thanks for the info.:awais:

After all I just reinstall the new lights to the truck back using the same procedure as I remove the old ones, in reverse directions, of course.
So now my truck looks like

did they install it for you?

No, I've done it myself. Why pay someone if you can do it yourself. BTW, pictures shows the process. I just have friend working there.

Alexjet: Can you post instructions with pics how you modded your bumper lights?

Let me see if I can find them. I should have a few in my computer or camera... It was a long time ago. Since then I've added full metal bumper with tire carrier, gas can holders and Hi-Lift mount.

cdoyle, your bumper lights turned out sweet, I remember seeing your post quite some time ago.
I just removed the lenses and dremelled the hole out in the back and installed some sockets with led bulbs. Turned out very nice as well, and I think was a lot easier.
There is a very extensive thread around here that goes for pages and pages and a couple of the pages give very detailed instructions.
