So my 2014 tailgate when opened floated all the way up by itself every time for 20,000 miles. My 2015 goes about 3/4 of the way up by itself then stops after only 2000 miles. Does anybody have this same issue?

If you go to the gobi racks . com website, they usually offer tailgate struts that are supposedly about 25% stronger than the stock struts. I don't have them, but I remember them being recommended when I installed my gobi ladder to the tailgate being that it added about 14 pounds or so to the rear gate. Not sure if this post really helps, sorry.
I got the struts from Gobi. They are definitely stiffer/stronger. I don't ever have an issue opening. My 8yr old son struggles quite a bit more when trying to close the door... but that is a good thing.
