Took my running boards off and got a roof rack from a friend of mine

Bought her as a replacement for my current car (a 2003 Mach1 Mustang) because I'm heading up to lovely Colorado where a rear wheel drive hopped up v8 isn't going to get me on the trails or haul my mountain bike. As of now the SS 1.2 Kit is half installed with the other half coming tomorow morning. Should have some pics up then.
Now for some parts shots:

Welcome to the forum!:welcome: You have the EXACT same 4Runner as mine! Except mine is stock.

Care to trade once you get that lift and rubber on? haha :hungry:

I like your plans. I'm getting there myself, just limited in how fast I can do any more major upgrades after what I've done so far.

You'll love the SS 1.2 Lift. I have the SS1.2 Alternate lift and my truck feels incredible. Steve is a great guy as well and I enjoyed dealing with him. Good luck on your build!

Well, I got sick, which kinda set things back a couple days. But today I got sick of being sick, and decided the best way to get well was to inhale some paint fumes and bend a wrench. So the lift is finished and skids are painted.

Skidplates (front plate and a close up of the belly skid for texture)

A picture of the Wheeler's Type B wheels (Wheeler's centercaps too)

I'll be getting the front diff drop tightened up tomorow and the brakes bled (for the rear line extension). Might even get the skidplates on. Either way Friday the wheels and tires are getting mounted and Saturday I'll be heading down to get the ARB front bumper.

Got the whole lift on! Tons more room and rides great even though my alignment is absolute garbage now.

Finally got my wheels and tires mounted! I'm incredibly pleased with the result although i had to trim the crap out of the stock fender flare part thats on the front bumper just to drive normally. I also had the truck aligned so it actually drives straight again.

Good looking rig.
So it sounds like you are moving here to Colorado?
You will have to look us up and wheel with us. There is a pretty active group out here. Also it looks like you are missing protection for your gas tank.

I bet Gerdo knows a reputable seller that can hook you up with a gas tank skid! ;)

BTW, nice work so far! Very tasteful mods, and color choices for the undercarriage pieces! I've always preferred low key colors on undercarriage pieces, rather than bright colors.....

What did you use to paint the frame here? I will be doing my whole undercarriage/frame very soon with RustBullet!

I used a bedliner (rustoleum I think). On the rusted parts i used a wire brush and wheel combination to take off most of the rust. Then used two coats of a rust primer. Then two coats of bedliner.

I have the stock skidplate if you can even count that. And yea I am moving to Fort Collins to go to college at CSU. Always loved Colorado and I got offered a few scholarships so I jumped at the chance to head up there.

I love that look of a black undercarriage. The only splash of color I am going to have on the bottom is the extended differential breather mod. Got a nice TRD red colored hose to do the job.

First off I'd like to say thanks to everybody on this forum. I've learned pretty much everything I know about 4Runners from reading threads on this site. Second off I have a question. I have a quiet clicking sound coming from below the truck sometimes when I shift into gear and sometimes while I'm driving. It never happens often enough for me to diagnose it by listening. I've read some stuff on the driveshaft and u joints needing to be greased so maybe that could be it. Let me know if you guys think this could be it or gimme any suggestions yall have.

Well here's an update. Not quite the one I wanted however. I went down and picked up my ARB and upon inspection it is the bumper for the 05+ Tacomas. The darn thing is wider than the stock flares by a good amount. So we called the shop and they're having a new one sent here. No news on the CBI either. But one good piece of news is that I am about to order some HD-SKO sliders and a set of Wet Okole Seat covers. I'm also putting stuff together to make a rear cargo box like Glen (Low Profile Cargo Box 3rd Gen - YotaTech Forums) except I'll have smaller drawers and a cubby type thing for the rest. Also no sleeping platform.

Great start!!

Pretty much identical to where I started, and almost identical rig to mine!! You will be in good company when you arrive to Colorado, God's country!!!

Keep up the good work.

With the SS 1.2, CBI (athough mine is not the hybrid), color, and the Wet Okoles we will have nearly twin rigs....thats awesome

:bravo:

Funny you should mention that. I had (still have saved somewhere) a picture of your rig as the background on my Iphone for a month or two while I was still searching for my own.

ARB is on!

Over the weekend (before and after getting my wisdom teeth taken out) I was able to get the ARB. I did the frame endcap mod just in case by some black magic I get a winch. On to pictures!
