Moab trip needs to get here sooner.

Agreed.

Well in final preparations for Moab, I've got to do the gear oil in the front diff and install my brake lines and clearanced flares. But there is some fun stuff. Just ordered a 1/4" top plate spacer from Toytec to try and balance out my drivers side, and I'm going to finally do the ISR mod. Should be all ready to go!

Also my tune up (TB/ISR/MAF clean, new fuel filter, oil change, air filter clean, EFI reset, cable adjustments) has worked wonders! The car feels brand new! Also my MPG seems to have picked up a bit. I'll report back after a few tanks but it seems like it will be a decent change.

So I just got back from a trip to Moab. Ended up running Hells Revenge, Trifecta, and some other simple trails just for fun. Here are some assorted pics, see the whole thing here! http://www.toyota-4runner.org/off-roading/154653-moab-march-5.html#post1660530

Hey man, how's the LockRight on snowy roads?

Is it the 1620 part number?

Its a cakewalk man. You really cant get it wonky unless your trying. And even trying its super easy to control. I've never gotten myself in a situation where i was worried with it. FR4R can chime in too if he has gotten any snow with it. If your driving like a regular person its barely there. Definitely run Redline Shockproof gear oil. Its been a miracle for me and others with autolockers, and run your tires around 40psi or high 30s. I've heard its better at higher psi. I wouldn't really know because i always run 40 on the roads.

Yea 1620. If you need any help putting it in lemme know. This would be my fourth locker install haha.

What who said I was getting one? We all know I'm done offroading forever, don't have the money, and don't want to risk breaking my rig again... :lie: just don't mention the locker to Travis if you talk to him, I gotta do something to compete with what he's about to do to his 4R!

That said, I may be giving you a call in several weeks...you gonna be up here this summer?

well I mean you wont break it if you lock it! haha so it sounds like a win win situation. I know he ordered an addicted bumper. Did he buy more shit?

Yea I'll be up here as long as the job market cooperates. I need to wheel more. I want to go soon as I'll be fenderless for a while until I get the bottom fender mount fixed.

I just gotta wait till payday and see where things are with the bank account, so maybe a couple weeks and I'll have it. And he's always buyin more shit, haha but just a light bar for the bumper for now. I think he may be looking into a locker at some point this summer too.

We'll have to go this summer, it'll be my first summer up here so I want to spend some weekends out of civilization if possible. Maybe I'll even beat her up enough to justify new bumpers!

I feel you on the whole payday thing. I just need a payday to begin with! I could use a few things thats for sure.

Yea definitely. I wanna get outta town haha.

Payday, schmayday.

You got to go to Moab... and run Trifecta.

The pics made me wish I'd gone. The campsite was exactly as I imagined it, and it looks like you guys had a successful (and breakage free) trip. I'm still looking at options for Blanca, fyi.

hahaha tell that to my poor bank account.

You shoulda came! It was a blast. Even though the campsite was a ways away I think I preferred it. Talk about quiet nights. Plus we had a great view of fisher tower and even got to see some guys on top of it, or we saw their headlamps atleast. I'm still in when the time comes to run it. Jaws 3 looks like a blast.

Agree with what Tyler said - Redline, 40 psi in the tires and be easy on the gas around corners - wet or dry roads. It will be easier to get the back end to kick out with the locker on snow/ice, but it's completely manageable.

As long as you don't enjoy hammering the gas around corners you won't notice the locker for the most part. I can see getting annoyed with it if I had to commute through Downtown Denver or something everyday because you can feel it unlock/lock when you get off the gas and get back on it quickly in traffic. I was nervous about the autolocker before I did it, but I'm glad I put it in. Good news is that if you hate it you can just take it out and be back to open fairly easily.

Was checking my email and had to do a double take.

Haha weird. I feel I see built yotas all the time now that I don't live on campus. When I did, I didn't even see Chris's truck and he went to the same school haha.

Thanks for the compliment and were always willing to lend a hand. I've got a garage now so I've got the space to screw with just about anything you could get yourself into.

I'm a junior now. Started out in mechanical engineering and now in construction management. Wayyy better but that's a long story haha.
