TCMach's Build Thread

Haha weird. I feel I see built yotas all the time now that I don't live on campus. When I did, I didn't even see Chris's truck and he went to the same school haha.

Thanks for the compliment and were always willing to lend a hand. I've got a garage now so I've got the space to screw with just about anything you could get yourself into.

I'm a junior now. Started out in mechanical engineering and now in construction management. Wayyy better but that's a long story haha.

-I always see like the same two or three yotas, but since I did live right across the street from campus that could be the reason(we will see in july if it changes)
-Good deal man I'm willing to learn anything (non-exsistant runner knowledge I love stalking everyone's builds and pretending I know what they are talking about) saddest part is I don't even know how to change my oil :ybrick:

- Ill be a junior next year as well! (second year in the fort) and damn yea I know someone in mechanical engineering, which I peaked at one of their books and everything was over my head!
-That's why I just declared Fermentation science and Technology as my major last semester

Well, I haven't done much modding on my truck recently but the bug bit me. Since my paychecks are still on their way I kept it small but useful. A removable, fully adjustable bike mount.

So I bought a Delta lockable bike mount and a 4' piece of 1/8" steel. The concept is simple, attach the two then slip the ends of the steel under my boxes. This allows me to move it forwards, backwards, left, and right depending on what bike I'm carrying. It also allows me to keep three seats available. Ended up pretty solid. Does have a bit of wobble due to it being off center. But if I stick a bungee from the rear of the frame to the tie down its pretty much immovable.

Turns out the holes in a CBI hybrid bumper make a good drilling surface, complete with holes for the bit to pass through

Not many updates as of right now. Rebooted my spare CV and swapped it onto the truck in place of my CV with a torn boot. Also am buying a welder pretty soon, so I picked this up in preparation. Got a hell of a deal on it and its in excellent shape. Turns out it was 5 minutes from my house so I hopped on over and snatched it No more cutting tube with an angle grinder for me!

I like the picture in your first post, the one of how your rig "sits now". Decal looks good! We are going to meet up at some point, right? :P

I'll be here almost as long as you, and then I drive back! Are you down in Ft. Collins or what?

Well I've got a bit of an update. Picked up a Hobart 140 and a Miller Digital Elite not too long ago. Looking to build some stuff and also do some modifications to what I've already got. More on that to come.

The welder allowed me to stick my fenders back on finally, and I've also trimmed them crazydubman style. Flares will be going back on soon (also trimmed).

I realized this week I need to trim a little bit too.
Excited to see what you create with the new toy :bathbaby:

I love my Hobart Handler 140. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Its a beast of a little welder. I have a couple projects coming up very very soon so once I'm back into practice I should have a nice update to bring to you guys.

Nice bike mount! I did something similar but I used a wood board as a base.

Thanks! I still need to figure out something for the back of it. With my jumper back there it flexes the base a bit. Just need a little clamp for the back tire.....hmmm

Here is my first teaser of projects to come.

Yesterday was early christmas for me. I decided I could use a project to get my welding back up to par before I go off and try to build rear links. So I happened upon all this tube

Looking forward to starting this project! stoked to get to work on this jig Whitson Metalworks

Also I happened upon these yesterday for a hair over 300. My current Eibach/5100 setup will be for sale soon once I get these back from rebuild and extended travel conversion.

It seems like all I do is post pictures of things I need to build. Oh well, here is another one. One of the many projects that I have amassed... really need to quit being lazy
