Looks horrible remove the entire bumper immediately and leave it outside my house for disposal.

Anyways. Since nobody liked my picture (besides [MENTION=94050]cdrewferd[/MENTION] thanks for making me feel loved man), I didn't clean my truck and you all get iPhone pics in a parking lot instead of nice Canon pictures with good scenery.
On to the bumper. First things first, the CBI bumper is a fantastic bumper. It is really great for what it does, but when you push it past its comfort zone (like crawling) it really shows its weaknesses. Thus when I blasted it in Moab I decided I needed to redo the swingout portion.
These were the issues I felt like needed fixing in order for the bumper to be perfect for my situation.
1. Better departure angle. The CBI leaves a lot to be desired in this aspect
2. More secure tire mounting. The tire carrier portion of the CBI is a modular piece which is good for adjust-ability but bad when you bash it. It has room to move on its mounts which led to two nice dents on my tailgate
3. Tire coverage. When I drug the tire on notch in Moab the tire drug and seemed to stick on the rock in my opinion. Its probably not that big of a deal but my knowledge of friction says a piece of metal will slide easier than a piece of rubber
4. Minimalist. The longer I had the full swingout the more I felt like it covered too much of the hatch and took away from the look of the truck. So I wanted something that left more of the truck visible.
Now it came to the actual fabrication of the bumper. I had plans to do it myself but I moved and no longer have a garage so that was out of the question. So I put it on the back burner. When I moved I put some of my tools on craigslist. I get an email from a guy who wants my JET bandsaw, turns out its Glade, who was the owner and builder of this truck, which I'm sure you all remember.

Now he has his own fab shop called 52Eighty Performance. We got to talking and plans were put into motion. We ended on a design that had a rear structure for the tire to mount to, and a outer stinger to protect the tire and act as a skid. Onto the pictures. These first ones are updates from Glade, who was awesome to deal with and moved some stuff around so he could get my truck finished before the Jamboree.
