Megawarrior Yakima 5th gen TE

I know I am waking an old thread, but just incase somebody had questions, or wanting to see some more pics, I just installed my Megawarrior on my TE. Super easy install and looks great!

How much weight can the Megawarrior hold on the stock rails? I am thinking of adding the Rocky Road rack and a Megawarrior with the 22" extension on top of that. Not sure yet as that is around 1/3 the cost of the Gobi

Low Profile Gobi Stealth

This Rack is the ultimate rack on the market for our Rig. It does pick away a little on mileage but who cares? The 285's did more.

The cost is primarily why I did the Yakima. The Gobi is kick ass, but for my needs, the Megawarrior is more than enough. As for weight, it's as strong as the weakest link...in this case, the factory cross bars. The rack itself is limited to 150#. But subtract that from the stock maximum and you are at about 100#. So in short, the limit is about 100# of cargo.

I looked at those too but wanted a sleek profile that is still seriously functional. Gobi did it for me. It looks like a real Rack, not a Basket sitting up on the top. Just a personal preference. I have not found a grill guard yet that agrees with me either. Other than a custom built one.

Does anyone know what the factory rails are rated for? Added Thule crossbars & just ordered a Rola vortex rack, figuring I should be able to use the full 130lbs the Rola is rated for.
