Techstream Cable Question

Has anyone tried this cable and software from amazon?

I did buy it before Christmas...but have yet to use it.

I do believe [MENTION=29376]sandcrawler[/MENTION] has figured it though..

i don't think it was that exact cable, but i understand most of them to be more or less the same Chinese knock-offs.

this post was particularly helpful, most specifically the link provided to the PDF instructions and TISKEY software on this site.

i followed those directions and had no problems getting past the software registration business but couldn't get the cable driver (.msi file) to work for the life of me. derp. the driver provided on the CD that came with the cable worked perfectly. :nerd:

i did all this on an old, non-networked XP laptop, btw.

Are you able to update the techstream software to the latest version after you install it? I have a 2015 and it looks like i need version 9.31.000 to be supported.

i'm not sure. if it were me, i'd try to locate a download of the specific version you need before doing anything.

Yo, if you get it to work maybe I can swing by and get my seatbelt chime turned off? I've tried with the cable I have and no dice on my MacBook with VMware or Bootcamp.

You are correct, for 2015 you need 9.xx.xxx version.
I have 8.30 installed on an old Win XP laptop and shows only to the 2014 model year.

fyi:

my techstream was bought in 2013. last friday i had a 2015 toyota corolla in to program a extra key to it. It pulled up as a 14 and i was able to program it fine. i am not 100% sure but if anyone is local in philly and want me to try it on their 2015 with my tech stream. PM me

Thanks [MENTION=29376]sandcrawler[/MENTION]! I looked up the recent updates for Techstream - and it says that the 9.30.00 update added the 2015 4Runner, so I think that is the one that I need.
