Techstream programming for a smart key / fob

Guys,
Have any of you tried to order the Techstream software/cable off ebay to program a Toyota smart key fob? LINK

My local Toyota dealer quoted me around $350 for a replacement smart fob and I'm looking at all options before I splurge, as I only have one key.

Here is an OEM smart key from ebay - LINK
but this one doesn't have the physical key that needs to be laser cut.

Have any of you attempted to program your own smart fob as well as having a locksmith laser cut the emergency key?
TIA!

Caution- I bought a 3rd fob to keep inside for remote start only. Bought a fob off eBay and since it has been programmed to a prior 4Runner it's useless- dealer said once it's synced to a vehicle it can't be re programmed. Not 100% sure so someone correct me if I'm wrong please. That's what I was told

Umm, yes, it can indeed be programmed. The keyfob does NOT hold any data on what its connected, or linked, to, the vehicle is the only thing that holds data about the key.

Do a quick research online and you'll find that the ecu needs a "seed reset" for the key, and you only have a certain amount of time to add more keys to the system.

I do not know whether the techstream program we use will allow you to do this, but the dealer's techstream system does, they just don't like doing it because they aren't selling the key to you directly.

Lots of info on this all over the 'net on this subject. The biggest problems are the ID numbers not matching up with the original keyfobs and trying to program too many keys to the system, not sure how many you're allowed on the 4 runner, but its either 5 or 6.

Thought about buying the cable too....here's what I did instead.

Just thought I would give a fresh update on what I did for replacement keys for my 2011 SR5 Runner.
1. Ordered aftermarket 3-button keys on eBay - two for $35.98
2. Took keys to dealership - they were unsure they would work since they weren't there's but they quoted me $107 to cut and program both.

They worked perfectly and the dealership even cut me a valet key at no charge. The key blank from the dealership was $190 before the cut/program fee. So all in for basically $150 for two extra keys and a valet key.

Hope this helps someone.
