Yes, but if you load it up at full extent and hook up heaviest alowed trailer you'll be a little bit over 6000 lbs. My SR5 door stickers shows GVWR at 2855 ks which is 6294 lbs. Empty weight is about 4500 lbs though.

FYI, stability control & traction control (and 4-channel ABS) were introduced in 2001 4runners (3rd generation 4runner).
As for full-time vs. AWD, remember that some AWD systems are indeed full-time...see Subaru, BMW, Mercedes, etc.. Personally, I will take a full-time system over any "as-needed" system.

Trust me that in many cases "them" people pay way more tax than most make. The whole system is F'ed but don't hate the player, hate the game. :bounce:

Dude, believe me you'd flip if you saw how much taxes I pay personally AND my business. Hope you don't have to ever start a profitable business. Even with all the avoidance, you'd be surprised how much taxes businesses pay.
Federal, state, city, county, within certain areas of city, the list goes on and on.

That was SR5 model in testing. You're looking at Limited model. Ltd models have XREAS which should help with the handling issues of SR5. Again, you're looking at body-on-frame solid axled SUV vs. what you have been used to (unibody wagons/minivans). Acura MDX shares platform with Accords and Odysseys. 4runners are totally different. If you want a perfect compromise (off-road and on-road prowess), then prepare to spend much more than what a 4runner costs.
IMHO, it seems to me that Acura MDX may be the best choice for you given your somewhat negative perception of 4runners. The current MDX has the 6-speed automatic which supposedly is a stronger unit than the shitty 5-speed of old. I think that you can buy the current MDX at a good discount because a new one is coming out within a year or two I think. I like the current MDX a lot, but it does eat gas more than I want.

Oh I didn't blame you a bit. Sorry if if sounded like I'm not happy about your taxes, I'm sure everybody here pays more then takes from the society anyway. And you don't wanna know how much taxes we pay here in Canada ; )
It's just your IRS is strange a little bit including Limted in the list but leaving SR5 and Trail, I don't know what they're thinkig, just took a guess that's it not only abut GVWR, it's something more that that : )

Oh was it? Looked like a limited to me. You're correct I am an Acura guy but unfortunately, $$$ talks and I do not get the same tax benefits as I would vs the limited 4 runner

I am only looking at this vehicle due to the tax benefits. If mdx was on the list no doubt I'd not be on here lowering myself.
