1998 Toyota 4Runner 4WD limited

it needs some tlc but nothing too major from what I can tell.

I know there is some good Weed in Anna Slime but the price is way to high for that truck I'm sorry.

I paid 3500 for my 99 that needed less TLC than that in the IE.

Keep shopping around man. There are better deals out there. Dose it have the Locker?

Was the T-Belt done at 90-100k???? If not that needs to be done ASAP along with the water pump and seals while you are in there!

I would take it to Eric at Yota Masters (Corona) or James at The Truck Shop in your area to have either one of them really look it over and tell you what is up with the truck.

From what I see I'm looking at a 3500-4k truck.

I was thinking the exact same thing I just wanted to see what everyone else thought. I picked up my 99 sr5 for 4500 last July and it was immaculate, but California people seem to think that they can get way too much for something that's worth half the price and are not willing to budge.

Other than the peeling paint the price is a little high but nothing ridiculous...

based on the mods he definitely looks like a t4r forum member. If the only things wrong are what's listed I wouldn't pay over $5k. It also has decent mileage at 165k which is getting more rare

I guess I could understand the price if it has a rear e-locker but even then I would probably start talking around the 5ish area. Still does seem a bit double black diamond.

Based on prices in this area it's a little on the high side, but if you're planning on buying one that's stock for $5k (which is pretty typical at that mileage) and then doing similar upgrades you're going to be into it for more money than he's asking pretty quickly. You can easily spend $1k on tires alone. Then another $3-400 on a new receiver, and you're probably going to want to do the shocks if they haven't been done already.

I'd want to know about the timing belt first thing, and get a look at the rear axle seals. Assuming those are ok if you can pick that up around $6k I don't think you'd be doing too bad.

As mentioned above, it's getting harder and harder to find these things under 200k miles.

My truck has 277k with the stock timing belt...
If its in your budget, then spring for it...but keep looking. I wish mine had an E-locker.

I have a 98 LE with a E-Locker with 172K on the clock, with excellent silver paint. That I would sell you for 6200.00. It is bone stock with 15 yrs. of records to prove it. I am the second owner. I bought it in 2000 after it came off a lease. See there are some still out there.

Same thoughts, slightly high for sunburnt paint but some decent mods in place already. I'd offer 5 and negotiate no higher than 5650. How's that y'all? :cowboy:

277k is pushing it for sure, i just replaced mine at 194k with the last one being done at the dealer at 85k and it was at the end of its life.

Back to the subject, thats priced pretty good for my area if its rust free, id negotiate a little less but its looks solid.

I was shopping around for a while in our southern CA area before I got mine, but yeah, I agree with the above statement. Little high. Would be fair in the 5000-5500 price range. :yo: Good luck on the search.
