I just wanted to say thanks to all of the regular users on this forum for taking the time to make it such a valuable resource. I bought my 2012 TE last week and all of the information on the forum was really helpful. Pawzitiv took the time to recommend some tire choices, I am really pleased I went with the Cooper S/T Maxx. I picked up my TE on Tuesday, swapped out the Tires Thursday, and had it offroading up in the Sierras Friday! The Crawl Control is pretty off the hook, I have been driving the same road to our gold claim for 20 years, this is the first time I did not spin a tire once going in and out, two creek crossings, all rock sections, a guy behind me in an ATV couldn't believe I made it up one hill without spinning at all. Stoked!

What trail is that and how hard/lvl. I assume you have stock everything except tires? I'm thinking of a norcal trip and wanted to add some nice fun off roading trails into the mix.

Sorry about the delayed response, I have been out of town. I just went with the stock 265 70R17s. I wanted to go 275, but the Cooper S/T Maxx does not come in that size. I am really happy with the Coopers, they performed great off road.

You picked a great tire. It continues to surprise me that more guys have not tried them. I was seriously tempted by the 285 E range S/T Maxx, but the 61 pounds discouraged me. I went w/ the 275 MT/R for offroad and might try a set of 285 DuraTracs for my highway use. The S/T Maxx seems suited to both applications.

I'm looking at the S/T Maxx too. Same size you have. I have a couple of questions:

Are you still using them?

Do you still like them?

Do you worry about gas mileage & track it; if so, what MPG are you getting?

Do they generate a loud highway humm?

Would you buy them again?

Anything else to add?

I take it you have springs , struts and shocks in the rear.

How much lift did it give you. I like the stance . Nice job and pics.
