Thanksgiving present

Thanks to the local hoodlums, I now have a new project to tackle over my Thanksgiving weekend. I walked around back to let my Bulldog in the back and saw the glass on the ground and looked up to see this. FML

I hope everyone's having a better Thanksgiving than me! :redbrick:

That sucks. Must be a bad day. My thanksgiving present is this morning I went to start my truck and it wouldn't. Needed to get it jumped. Im charging the battery right now but I'm leaning more towards bad alternator right now.

Sorry to see that man. I just had to replace my side rear cargo window. Hopefully u have a better rest f the day

That's some stone cold b.s. right there, man. Sorry to see that. If you choose to file an insurance claim, it would fall under comprehensive and you'd have that deductible apply. I mention it because a lot of people have a low or no deductible on their comp coverage. Also, comp losses are considered not-at-fault, so if you're with a standard carrier, it often is not considered against you in terms of future premiums.

This is based on my knowledge of things here in tn. With you being in ca that could be somewhat different though.

Have you done the big three upgrade?

I had battery problems for years until I did the upgrade and I've been fine since.

Call Ryan at 67 Truck. Tell him Brian sent you to see him. I'm sure he has one at the yard for you. I know that Kraze, 4runningdaily and a few others have went to him and love that place. They are good people and will treat you right.

Yep. And replaced all the factory wiring with 1/0 gauge wire. Battery is a 3 year old optima which isn't old but I've read haven't been made well recently. But even after getting it jumped it's been giving me symptoms that leads me to think alternator.

Just got back from the Thanksgiving feast with the family. I managed to keep it off my mind for the most part. Luckily I have another 3 days to get a replacement sourced and tear apart the door panel and fix it.

Thanks, I just might do that. I remember seeing a rear window on CL San Diego a couple weeks ago for $50, but it appears it's long gone.

Some people have zero deductible glass breakage and often don't even know it.

Check with your insurance to see if you have that.

I have glass coverage in Arizona. There are 14 states I believe that you get glass coverage with proper insurance coverage. Anyway I have gone through 4 windshields in 2 years. Sorry to see that. I went through something similar when I found my tire stolen.

sorry to see this man, did they take anything? i would hate to have to do a project like that out of necessity and not choice, IMO taking panels off is a PITA.

I had my toolbox and jumper cables in there because I was helping my brother with a dead battery the night before. Nothing was taken and nothing else was messed with. I don't make enemies, so I think it was just a case of vandalism.

I'll give my insurance a quick call to see if they can do anything. I believe I have a $500 deductible, so hopefully this doesn't fall under comprehensive :(
