The $1000 JBL upgrade on my 2013 limited

Just might be the biggest waste of 1K in my long illustrious history of wasting money (absolute horrible value for the $). My 4runner is almost paid off and I've decided that once it is my first real and likely only upgrade is going to be the stereo system. Yeah, I could fool myself and get all kinds of sweet rims and lifts and whatever, but it's mainly a highway/urban off roading machine.

Question is: Are most of you here doing the work yourselves or are you paying someone else to do it? If paying, what places are recommended? I used to use Magnolia HiFi for all that stuff but they no longer do car stuff like that anymore (been a while now). Never liked CarToys as they tore up a beloved civic I once drove. I am in the Seattle area so if you're reading this and from the area let me know of a good spot please!

I do all of my own stereo install. I just had a higher end shop in Vegas swap out my amp under a recall and they totally screwed up something that simple.

Most of the work is fairly simple. If you buy your equipment from Crutchfield, they supply complete instruction sheets as well as most additional parts you need to install.
