.043
Thanks,
I have read people either go with that gap or .032 gap. I got my plugs used and they are gapped near .032. Is it for sure .043?
.043
Sounds way overpriced.2002 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Sport 4x4 TRD Supercharger!
2002 with SC on criagslist atm... 8k for a truck with 195k miles, 1 owner and maint...
I really want to check this out... but I know I can't buy it... I would though if I didn't have my 99 ltd.
EDIT: OOPS wrong thread.
that is cheaper than my 150k mile 99 1 owner... and closer... wish I waited now... hmmpSounds way overpriced.
So I have done a couple test runs with the Supercharger. I only have the Supercharger and two step colder IK22 plus installed and gaped to .043. At ~4000 rpm it seems like I get spark plug blowout. Why are these plugs gaped so much? I have yet to install the rest of the 7th kit btw.
7th shouldn't matter, what makes you think you are getting spark blow out?
Yeah there is no way in hell you are pulling enough vacuum to collapse the intake tube. When the rig is under load at ~4000 rpm the engine acts like it cuts off all of a sudden. Most power is lose. As soon as it drops back in rpm the power comes back to life. Was taking to a car friend of mine and I was mentioning that I have that helix snorkel and that I thought the rubber tube was closing in on itself under the pressure( going to remove and do the test again). He said it sounded like I was suffering from spark blowout as the gap is so wide. In fact he has never seen a gap so large before.

You don't have that UrD box wired yet do you?
The reason I asked about the URD box is because you said "the rest" either. No sir, only the charger and the IK22 plugs are installed. Also that snorkel tube is rubber so it can collapse upon itself. Plan of action is...
-Remove the tube and run a fake snorkel in the mean time. If this does not cure the issue I will re-gap to .032.
I'm planning on installing the 7th injector and URD box by the end of this week.
Im running .043 without any problems
Yeah that's a good piont hard to tell though without a wideband. Do you have one?
Don't have one but it is in the shopping cart. I removed the rubber tubing and did a test run. 2nd gear up to ~4500 rpm and no cut out so I beleive I found that issue. Now a new one, po171 popped up as a pending code.![]()
If you pull the EFI fuse/relay (can't remember which one, I just pull both) it'll allow the ECU to adjust for the air flow much quicker. A P0171 normally points to a bad O2 sensor or vacuum leak though, so it's worth at least checking especially if you had just done engine work prior to the code.
After more thought and listening to it I might have a boost leak. Full boost is a little above 5 boost and I have a strange noise coming from around the charger (or it the charger itself). Where is it common to have a boost leak on these things?
