The 3.4L TRD Supercharger Thread

If the PCV is truly sealing though, there should be no air flow going into the PCV in the first place. Unless the water is just collecting at the opening and entering at a very slow drip? But then again once the PCV is blowing air again it should purge the line.

Is you catch can installed in a way that the fittings on the can are the lowest point in the hose? Min hoses are at a slight curve so any water/meth that would come in would not enter the catch can (would be trapped at the middle of the hose) unless the PCV isn't sealing and allowing flow.

Tomorrow I will take a few pics of my catch can set up.

That one looks good. 7k miles is basically new. I can't remember the full kit of the top of my head, but that looks to be pretty much complete.

no i ran a road trip and went to the mountains in the 4runner. no pictures sadly. spend all my time on the slopes with the fresh 12" of powder.

I hear ya! Well when you are ready to install and "if" you run into any snags, feel free to text me. If I can help, I will !

Got it! Now, going to wait to purchase the 7th Inject and install all together.

I've got my rig booked in at a local shop for a dyno tune on the 12th. I'm interested to see what sort of numbers it puts down and how the changes between open and closed loop are smoothed.

I'll make sure to post up the maps for anyone to reference when I am done. Creating a maps database for specific altitudes would be nifty...

Did you get the AFR controller? I'm in the situation where I cannot change AFR in closed loop. I think I'll have to get the controller!

Tuning with the URD equipment is super easy. What you'll likely find is that you'll have to retune it on the street. Mine was really rich on the street compared to when I tuned it on the dyno. I didn't know people would actually pay to get the tuning done. Maybe I should start doing it in my area.

I agree. Tuning is quite easy.

Did you make much changes to your timing?
Trying to get a grasp with how to change timing if I didn't monitor stock timing beforehand?

What AFR controller are you referring to?

might be doing the 7th tomorrow and fuel pump....
I don't even need the fuel pump for my application - stock is doing just fine.

Do you have dyno? If not, then I wouldn't pay you to do it. Sorry. If I am spending any money, I need quantitative results - something I can point at and say 'B run over A run shows X improvement'.

Consider that even if you find it easy, it may not be to others. the time and effort involved just isn't reasonable for me to expend on this - I would rather have someone with a wide library of knowledge to adjust my engine to ensure long term health. I've never played with forced induction - I've learned lots on this project.

I've played with the timing but trying to do it on my own is damn near impossible. I can't monitor and log all the variables while driving, unfortunately my Wideband O2 doesn't output to PC.

When cruising the 4Runner runs fine - it has the transition zone between closed and open loop that I need adjusted to smooth it out with the timing.

In closed loop I was able to adjust the 7th injector timing to come on at ~4PSI - apparently I don't need it before that (based on AFR's).

I would love to see your timing and fuel maps after you get yours dyno'd. I think I've got mine pretty well tuned but please do post pics of your maps afterwards. What elevation is it where you're located?
