After I put my SC on I blew out my ring gear.:zoom:

I just had new 4.88's installed from ECGS. Less than 500 miles on them. I think they'll be ok for a while.

SC with URD and ping

I have a 2002 4Runner that I converted to M/T.

It has a first gen supercharger (rebuilt) with 2.2 pulley and URD 7th injector kit.

When on the highway in 5th going up a hill about 55-60mph, I'll give it about 1/2-3/4 throttle (to accelerate), I can hear the engine ping. The ping goes away if I let off the throttle or downshift.

I thought the URD was supposed to eliminate that. I'm getting a AFR wideband to see what my fuel ratio is.

Leaking

Hello,

I have the P0171 code and have finally figured out that the supercharger has a vacuum leak.

The "L" section in front of the By-Pass Valve is loose. Before I take it apart, are there seals in there. Or how are they supposed to be sealed.

How did you determine there was a leak? I'm curious as I just had mine rebuilt and would like to verify if it is or is not leaking.

You still have to tune it. Get a UEGO (AFR) and go out and add some fuel or take out some timing.

Supercharger Vacuum Leak

After replacing the MAF and Upper O2 sensor and still getting the P0171 code,I had a mechanic check for vacuum links. He sprayed carb cleaner around the area and the engine started to run rough. Can you tell me if that part of your SC has any play on yours? Mine moves a little.

yeah mine does have play also. I'll try spraying mine and see what happens. I believe I get good boost but do not have a gauge on it for numbers.

Side note. I saw a YouTube video of some Asian guy and a red supra with some stupid boost. (35 ish???). And he was running like 2000 cc injectors. That blew my mind thinking the size of ours. That's some fuel flow!

I'm still running the stock URD 7th injector tune on mine. I have been happy with it.
Actually considering selling my 2nd gen SC along with the URD 7th injector system and a rebuild kit (bearings oil etc). I may be purchasing a 2015 4runner. Currently it's still installed and running great!!

I may be putting in on the market soon!!!

Replaced SC seal at "L"

yeah mine does have play also. I'll try spraying mine and see what happens. I believe I get good boost but do not have a gauge on it for numbers.
