The 3.4L TRD Supercharger Thread

Today I installed a stock pulley to replace the URD 2.1" that was formerly on the blower.
I unplugged the battery - went for a test drive, and the check engine light came back. (p0171 was with the 2.1")..... and although I haven't scanned the codes YET - I'm assuming it will be the same code.

Once I run it I'll update

If u unplug the front o2 sensor and tape the plug off to the side and use the free fmu mod, the stock injectors will supply enough fuel. By unplugging the o2 you are forcing the OEM ecm to run off of the internal fuel maps rather than the o2 sensor. Toyota's fuel mapping is dead on, with the free fmu it runs really well. It will kick a check engine light FYI. Give it a try, you'll gain 30hp I promise. I did this b4 I got my 7TH injector, I had a afr gauge so I verified it works and works well.

I'm hoping to have everything sorted out by spring. Next is u joints and tundra breaks!! I was talking to my local dealership but that's brake related so I'll find an appropriate thread

Well, yes it does give extra fuel... but it also is reading atmospheric levels of oxygen so it's dumping on fuel permanently. In boost, out of boost, idling, etc. You'll get terrible gas mileage as well as eventually ruin your catalytic converter since you'll have gobs of unburnt fuel entering the exhaust.

I feel like my rig is already doing this. I'm getting VERY shitty gas mileage at the moment.

Yea thanks for the info on that - but I'd rather wait to install the 7th injector (sitting in my garage).

And yes - p0171 is back after putting the stock pulley on.

How many other people are dealing with this code in high elevation?

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? Sorry if I missed a previous post. That's been the cause of my P0171 every time and I take my 4Runner up to 7,000 ft fairly often.

So guys. I created a drawing of the dual throttle cable/ transmission cables for the supercharger.

I am going to see what I can do to get these cut out soon and shipped out. I will probably post them on my fatpatsbodylifts.com web site for sale. But again what should I list this for? $15 free shipping? Is there much of need for the dual brackets?

I'd take one too. Let us know when you get them ready! I would do $15 shipped. Saves the hassle of trying to 'trade' with someone as well...

This is tight dude!!!

I am in need of a single cable bracket for the 01-02 4runner's...

Does anyone have one???

I think I have one that will fit your Runner. My SC came off of a Tacoma (not sure what year the Taco was) but it is a single cable TB bracket. PM me and I can get you a pic of the bracket.

To my knowledge yes. I am not that great at determining the diagrams when I look at maps.

I did have to plug to holes with a cap. Maybe that's causing it. OR is it possibly bad o2 sensors?

Buy this one and just don't bend the transmission side, or just cut it off.

OK Vac line experts... help me figure out whats going on. I know one of these is for the boost gauge...yes?

This is a black rubber cap on this nipple

This is a line running nowhere I just found

Boost gauge port?

And my check valves came in the mail today, yet cant seem to find where it goes

Where does the IAC check valve go?

Under the throttle body, There is hose that connect to the manifold I think. Other end goes to the AIC valve on the throttle body.

Now be aware that 2 hoses on the throttle body have clips which coolant runs through.

Naw, runs pretty good. Afr's were pretty much stoichiometric during non boost periods. During boost they dropped to about 10:1-even during part throttle boost. The only negative was decel. Decel afr's were at about stoichiometric as well, ideally during decel u want leaner. For some reason open loop affects decel fuel cut.

What's your guys timing set at? My afr are nice 11.3 or 10.3 ish but I have a lag/ hesitation. Then when I let off the throttle a hair the truck will then haul ass Almost like a power band.

10:1 is considered too rich and robbing power. For boost applications, 12:1 is the target ratio, with variance for the engine and application.

What I mean is, does it richen the fuel mixture? Yes. Is it the preferred method to richen the mixture? No. There are long term effects of running rich, such as fouled plugs, carbon build-up, and above mentioned cat failures.

10:1 isn't that bad. Plus being a little extra rich helps against pinging. If someone needs a method to get by without a 7th injector or other piggyback it works and it takes 5 minutes. When I installed my 7th injector with the preprogrammed tune from Gadget, the 0-60 time was actually slower than just unpluging the o2 and afr's were less than 9:1. Only with extensive programming of the 7th was I able to match and beat the unplugged o2 with free fmu.
