New to the platform as a ‘99 w/252k mi. just joined our ‘05 Land Cruiser and ‘08 FJ.

Quick question: on the way home, a wheel center cap went AWOL. Are the 6-spoke caps the same as the 5-spoke caps? Is there a reliable place to source these?

Thanks!

Not cheap from Toyota but here's a link, I would suggest finding one at a salvage yard, or you might find one on eBay!!

42603-35630 Genuine Toyota Wheel Hub Ornament Sub-Assembly)

Edit: Also found this, much cheaper for the part, but the shipping is crazy, not sure if they are OEM or not but they appear to be.

Can anyone tell me if it's normal for the rear output flange on the Tcase to have a little in/out play? It takes a little muscle but I can get a 1/16" or so in/out movement. If I push/pull hard I can get a little clunk.

The flange isn't loose, the shaft moves in and out with it. The staked nut is properly torqued and doesnt look messed with.

I'm trying to find the source of a vibration.

2000 SR5 v6, 5 speed, j shift case.

No takers on my post above?

Can anyone Confirm That a j shift transfer case from a v6 automatic will work fine on my r150F manual? A little research looks like it might be the same other than needing to swap my shifter to the auto case. Anyone done this?

Hello, I am having an electrical issue and I am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.
2000 SR5 4WD A/T keeps on blowing the ECU-IG fuse whenever I turn the key to accessory and has a P0500 code. Transmission speed sensor and wheel speed sensors are fine, drives normal but ABS light is on and I have to use the shift interlock. Here is the interesting part, windows don’t roll up or down, except when I have the doors closed and press the power lock button. After pressing the button I have a 10ish minute window where I can roll the windows up and down. Whenever I press the door lock button with the car off and with a new fuse in, the dash lights light up like I put it into accessory mode, and then turn off within a second. The fuse first blew about 3 months ago, I put a new one in and it was fine until about a week ago. Any Ideas?

Check the wires in the boot to the tail gate. Might have some broken wires or a short.

There may be a difference in 'forward' vs. 'top' shift too - not sure if that is the case on the 3rd gen 4Runner, but other years it is a possible issue. If so, the shift rail is different (comes up out of the TC from a different hole).

They do have the same bolt pattern, shift pattern, gear ratios, flanges, etc.

been having issues but to get straight to the point I got my throttle body out today and removed my IAC valve.

I'm guessing when I shake the IAC in my hand I should not hear a rattling sound. Correct?

After starting some frame repair tasks I realized I don't know how to remove the clips that hold the rear brake line to the drivers frame rail. I managed to break one and would like to find replacements before I have to remove the rest to install the safety-cap frame repair kit.

Does anyone have a part number for this clip. It's designed to secure 2 lines to the frame.

I did find the clips available on ebay but they ship from China and I'm not sure they will arrive without some hassle. They also want to sell you 20 at a time .

Thanks
90949-01C06 I believe this is it. 90949-01613 There's also this one.

Wheel Cap Paint color?

The wheels on my recently purchased 3rd Gen look great but the paint on the wheel caps is toast. What’s the best or closest color match to the color of the factory wheels? Pic for reference.

I have a '96 4Runner Limited and I want to swap the hood out for a sport hood that has the scoop. I know they only started offering the sport hood on '99 models but are the chances still good that a '99 sport hood would fit on my '96? They're the same generation obviously but I thought I check and see what you guys thought first. Thanks!

Dash illumination Tap

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking to install switches in my 97 4Runner and wanted to know if anyone knows a good place to tap into the dash lights so that the switches light up when the headlights are turned on.

Thank You!

Having issues at low idle on cold starts, drops as low as 300-400 but if I let it warmup and give it gas after a few minutes it idles fine and drives well? Ive done some research and it seems like a IAC problem, tried cleaning it without taking it off. I assume taking it off and cleaning it well is recommended? The cats are also hollowed out, had a buddy say that could be the issue.
