Hello Friends;

Need help to know the correct colour code of my hilux surf; Pictures attached

Thanks in advance

The color code is usually posted on the I.D. plate in the driver door frame. It's a 3 digit code, sometimes with numbers and letters.

Given your location, I am not sure if your VIN plate is the same as mine, but in the event it is, here is mine with my paint code highlighted.

If in doubt, post your VIN Plate and we may be able to help.

Good luck,

Eddie

^The OEM rear wheel studs are longer than the front so you could swap them over. TBU shouldn't effect wheel stud length, spacers and different rims should be the only reason to need longer front wheel studs.

I got a question for you guys. also how's it going? I'm bin a member for a minute now but I never really post just a lot of scrolling going on. Any who I did all of my suspension. tie rod ends,SBL's, ball joints and all. even did the rack and pinion bushings but I still get a pull to the right. its alined and set up also even over looked by the guys at wheel works but I still have a pull. never really asked them but what ever. what the hell could it be? rack and pinion its self????

Post your alighment sheet.

Does anyone know a good source for electrical fittings? The previous owner thought it was a good idea to cut and splice with cheap butt connectors instead of using the factory plug. I need one specifically for the abs speed sensor. I have a brand new sensor and I really don't want to cut the wire if I don't have to.

Does anyone know where I can buy replacement factory roof rack rails? Parts manager at dealership can't find anything and thinks maybe the rails were aftermarket. I have no idea, any thoughts?

They came on most 3Rd gens but some didn't. look at Salvage yards, ebay, Facebook market place or craigslist.

Ordered some Level 8 Mk6's for my new-to-me 300K 4runner.
Her suspension looks worn and crusty.
While I decide what springs I want with 5100's, I realized that I need to replace the LBJ's.
While I'm down there, is there anything else that I may want to replace for a 2" lift?

there is a thread just about the 2 inch lift, and a video by speedys garage on youtube, just doing the 2 inch. There is tons of info and videos if going higher than 2 inch ( like 3 inch or more). The main advantage of the 2 inch lift is no diff drop needed and no messing with the rear panhard or sway bars or longer rear brake hose.
I will prob just do a 2 inch lift on my current 4runner, last one had a 3 inch ( which I liked and is good too).

what else is needed.....well look at your outer tie rods, get new bolts for the LBJ's, only use toyota LBJ's. With nearly 300k, look close at the lower control arm bushing too, they can be worn at that miles. sway bar links, steering rack bushings too. All of those, even with new shocks/springs and LBJ's you will still feel the slop and move in and out of alignment.

Indeed, indeed. Thanks for the info. Adding those parts to my list. I think 2” looks great with 32” shoes. I’m around 85% city 15% off, so 3” with 33” doesn’t make as much sense.
