Thanks, this is super helpful. I have an OEM gasket for the tailgate "garnish" (license plate surround) that I have avoided installing due to not wanting to deal with the tailgate internals. Sounds like that part should be very accessible for removal during the rear window replacement?
I've not tried to access the surround, nor have I studied it. It looks like it could be done with the window up? You can see part of where the surround is in this pic (ignore red circle- that's the release for the hatch latch and connector for the dome light) and what looks like a nut that should be for the surround a bit to the left of said circle... there's bound to be several more if I'm right...
One day when the key cylinder falls in as they sometimes do, that's the day I'll be able to answer the question! I kinda want to go look for my ownself. Maybe when it's warmer as my 'garage' is actually just the driveway.
Do you have the part number for the gasket? I am intrigued.
