I just take all my wheels off and put it on jack stands every night:guitar3:

That's the most effective because it prevents the truck from being towed away, driven away or pushed down the street.

Just make sure you park it under a big tree or structure so no one can lift it with a helicopter and sky - haul it away.

In all seriousness, my 5-speed truck is less desirable to the common car thief cuz most people can't drive standard shift.

A hidden pump or ignition interrupt switch can't hurt.

Has anyone ever contemplated some sort of quick-release steering wheel? I have no idea how complicated that would be but seems to me it could be extremely effective.

Also, I have a 2000 limited that won't start without the chipped key. Any thoughts on how effective those actually are?

You'd lose your airbag if you did a quick release wheel. I have one on my Alltrac (never had an airbag). I use it just as much to extend the wheel towards me as I do for anything else (ease of entry/exit or theft deterrence).

Chipped keys are the reason why auto theft is basically at an all time low. They work very well. I don't worry about the vehicle itself if it has a (factory) immobilizer. Smash-n-grab can still happen, of course.
