Professional built Chevy V-8 small block 400 Stroked (6.7 Liter 406) estimated 400hp with only 14K miles. Rods are longer than stock at 6-inch length. KB performance Pistons, total seal piston rings, ARP head studs, Fel-Pro intake manifold, BLP two piece timing cover, Streetdampr performance harmonic dampers on crank, Edelbrock Pro-Flow Multi-Port Sequential Fuel Injection has keypad in cab for adjustments on the fly. Trick Flo aluminum cylinder heads. Custom Erson cam shaft. Crowler Roller lifters and roller rocker arms. Evans waterless NPG+ coolant with total bypass thermostat. Power Steering. Air Conditioning. NV-4500 Dodge 1 ton 5-speed manual transmission with 0.75 overdrive and 5.61:1 first gear. Dual Toyota transfer cases with two shifters, front input shaft heavier 23 splined for torque. J. P. Eater adapter and 2.28:1 gears front case, 4.1:1 gears rear case. Final crawl ratio is 215:1. Dana 60 rear axle, Moser 1.5 inch 35 spline axles. 4.10:1 Dana gears, ARB air locker, Rear disc brakes with E brake, Long traction bars allow for articulation. Rock sliders are solid and the entire truck can be high lift jacked frome either side. I was watching the auction, I was surprised the seller didn't let er go for that, , can never recoup build /labor costs.....

The first Gen Runners are coming up in value fast,
Especially when they are in the condition the Op's 85 is.
I had my eye on an Ebay action that an 87 was offered up for bid on last week.
Bidding hit $8,200 and reserve was not met. The truck was very clean had 192k on the odometer, and needed paint.
I think that the first gen will defiantly see double digit values in the next few years and may get as collectable as it’s big brother, the Land Cruiser

I was surprised to see that even get an $8200 bid! There was a turbo 4runner a few weeks back that sold for like $15,000 on ebay. That thing was immaculate though. It did have a little bit of turbo work done but nothing crazy.

It kind of makes me want to do some resto on mine because it's virtually rust free and most of the interior is in pretty good shape. Too bad I'm pulling all the interior out and lining everything and getting new furniture for the front and back.

Hey SV, How are your front seats? I'm looking for a set of SR5 gray seats that are in good shape, 1987 to 89.

On a side note, I have a little over 7k in my 1988 restoration. I have been offered that much to sell, I'm sure if I said I had 10k into it they would offer 10k....
The first Gen and even Second Gen have a great look to them when they are clean and not over modified.

The advantage I see that the first Gen T4R has over the Land Cruiser as a practical driver is, comfort, and fuel economy. I love the Fj40/50 and 60 Curser looks but, it is not cheap to buy, own, or operate. The Fj40 is like a mail jeep, it’s cool but, I cant see driving it to the store or back and forth to work everyday. Before spending $18 to $80k on a 30 year old daily driver most people will buy something new.
The first Gen 22RE gets 20 to 24 MPG, the ride and comfort(especially the IFS 86 TO 89) is very good and it’s cheap to maintain.
This makes the early 4runner a more practical choice for ownership to many that can’t afford to own a classic truck and another daily driver truck too.

I'll get back with you later this evening when I get off work and I'll send you some pics. To be honest, I think they're in good shape, they may need to be steam cleaned. My 4runner is still sitting in my driveway in "project" status. I don't know what it will take to ship them, I have never shipped anything that big.

Those pics do give me a bit of a deja vu feeling as I remember the '85s when they were new during my HS years;I also remember in '89 I saw a slightly used/lifted (red w/charcoal graphics) '87 4Runner 5 spd with new rims and 33" tires and it was going for about $14000 which at the time was a bit out of my price range. It was one sweet truck.
