thanks LFD team for getting me my crossbars so quickly. arrived in canada less than 1 week after ordering. it was shipped next day.
really like these bars, I almost didn't want to put my storage boxes up there because I really liked the look of them empty. the nice packaging was also appreciated. the exterior box got a bit banged up from shipping which is normal especially when it comes by air but the bars were nice and protected
I didn't actually need the rubber stripping for the integrated faring. Mine sits about 1/4" above the tallest part of the roof, maybe a bit more. if I put the stripping on the faring would definitely contact the roof. I'm sure the stripping does help a bit with wind noise, but the roof is pitched anyway so the faring only touches /seals out wind on the roof on a very small area. Am I missing something about this stripping that I don't know about?
pro tip - anyone out there who buys these and wants the sticker, put the sticker on before you mount the faring. it would have been hard to align it straight after the faring was mounted
these bars are solid and will hold much more than I will ever put on the roof. they have a low enough profile that with some pelicans up there I don't really have to worry about my ride height. this was always an issue with my thule bars because they sit up so high + having a faring with mounting holes and an unused crossbar comes in handy for mounting multiple accessories - so glad these came with 4 bars. I thought about buying 2 bars + faring rather than the bundle but glad I didn't
installation took about 45 minutes, and that includes me redoing it before tightening because I wanted the LFD stamped logo facing the same way on all the bars and faring. watching youtube videos helped though for sure, those t nuts into the side rails can be tricky
10/10 should have bought these a long time ago. stainless steel is a must though if you have any concerns about rust. the powdercoating was well done (I thoroughly inspected!) and I'm sure will hold up. but inevitably if you are throwing things on them and bolting gear down you will get some knicks at some point in the powdercoat (especially sliding eye bolts or regular bolts through the tracks)
