I wonder if they would substitute and you pay the difference for a couple wide bars? I’m guessing you purchased the 4 standard bars with integrated fairing? Or do what KRHAYES79 did.

Yep, that's exactly what was behind the wide bar, direct bolt on for rotopax.
I have bolted a rotopax to a regular bar using only two of the bolts on the rotopax mount. It worked, and honestly would probably be sufficient, but I feel better with four bolts in it.
That metal strip bridging the crossbars is a good idea. We've done that before too in a pinch trying to mount something.

So I was looking at the actual rotopax mount:
I was wondering if it's possible to mount just the mount itself (top left in the picture above) without the round base.
Or maybe mount the round base diagonally?

Mounting diagonally will make your rotopax sit diagonally as well. Ask me how I know LOL
I would assume you could go without the plate, I just do not know how sturdy it would be with only two bolts. Also, the Rotopax would rub in the crossbars and may rattle and cause wear on the outside of the Rotopax where it is touching the crossbar.

Should be fine mounted directly to the crossbar with only two bolts. Note that the mount is installed to the plate with only two bolts, so at some point they determined two bolts was good enough. The 4 bolts used from the plate to the crossbar is actually overkill from that point of view.

I think another use for the plate is to allow multiple ways to mount the Rotopax. Without the plate, and normal cross bars, you can only mount the Rotopax in the vertical position.
I am sure two bolts is enough for the smaller 1gal or 2gal Rotopax, but for me, I did not feel safe with the 4gal and only 2 bolts holding he mounts onto the crossbars.

The 10-13 trail side rails vary in width from front to back, so the crossbar has to be adjustable to accommodate that variation.
We could take the front position and get that set distance, but I don't have a set installed any more to do that, and I'd worry about fitment; it'd have to be in the correct spot each time or it won't work. 10-13 crossbars have been a pretty low take rate overall too... not sure there are enough out there to justify another part right now.

Has anyone mounted a frontrunner propane tank holder on their LFD crossbars? I currently have four steel crossbars (and a fairing on the front bar) mounted on OEM side rails. I've also got some Scepter jerry cans on the way: anyone mounted those on the crossbars?

Quick follow up on this, I was looking at the rotopax website and found this in the mount page:
So both should be safe.
This is the minimalist roof rack. I love the look and I’m hoping I might see a little better mpg with the weird basket rack off my truck. Hopeful to pull the trigger on an rtt in the spring.

Well I finally got my LFD Hybrid bumper and winch installed. It was a beating, mainly because I decided to mount my control box up by the airbox as someone on YouTube suggested. I had to buy some new longer cables and do some wiring inside the control box. Somehow I did it right and am happy with the configuration although I guess I won't be buying a second battery anytime soon. 
So the questions are, where are people mounting the front license plate?
The hook I got on the Ironman winch isn't big enough to fit around the D-links I have. Is Factor 55 Pro and Flatlink what most people use or is there a cheaper option that still is good quality?
Lastly, I noticed on some other hybrid bumpers there was some flat steel that attached to each side of the bumper where you could then stabilize the factory plastic bumper on each side which the LFD bumper doesn't have. Anybody have any issues with the plastic stock bumper flapping around at all?
All in all though, I love it. Just what I wanted, spool and clutch access.

Cool on the license plate holder. I was barely able to get the fairlead on as the bolt was barely long enough to fit the flat washer and lock washer on. Maybe the lock washer will be smashed down a bit so I can fit the license plate holder on it. If not I'll have to get rid of the lock washer and hope it stays on.
Good to know about the floppy bumper. There is one place where I can put a zip tie from the bumper to a hook (I think the tie down hook) but I may just leave it and see what happens.
Take the bolt over to your local small family owned hardware store and get the next sized longer one. I had to do that with my Warn Winch & Bumper.
The bolt-on LFD Wind Fairing on my Ruggedized front Crossbar is driving me nuts. I'm going to unbolt it and trash can it. I note LFD no longer sells it.
Haven't looked but hoping it didn't leave a dent in my roof from vibrating in the wind. Where I only noticed it at 85mph, it's now doing it at 55mph in a cross wind.

It comes with longer bolts - M12-1.75 x 35mm - and you reuse the nut and washers from the winch kit.
That's odd - mine works great and I routinely drive 80mph.
They still sell them - in accessories brackets and mounts.
Which one do you have?
Not 100% sure which one I have - I got it in person at an event.
Mine has 4 bolts (similar to the 2010-2013 model on their site).
No flex but the bolts can be in the way depending on how I lay things out.
I suspect they've tweaked the design over time to address different issues.
2 bolts opens up space (maybe some flex?).
And the final/best design is the integrated.
