These *&*%$#@ CHEAP door handles !

Love my 4R, but hate these silver painted, WAY too easy to scratch door handles. Am I the only one who has and/or doesn't like scratches on handles? A ring, bracelet or anything bumps them and they mark. Cheesy.

Wondering if there's a solution. Wouldn't mind them covered in leather, or better paint or??

Bought my truck used and they were the only signs of wear.

Maybe replace them with the handles off the TE?

Meh, I agree they suck, but I really don't care too much myself. If I wanted pretty handles, I would have bought a Sequoia. You could paint them pretty easy I would think.

Don't think its about "pretty", it's a about quality. Love my TE but some of the interior are just low quality crap.

I have not had any issue with mine aside from scratches. They did not use much paint it seems. I beat the piss out of my truck and really have not had any issues with low quality materials, again, aside from cosmetics.

I will say this, for $40k fully loaded truck, I would expect enough paint to handle the wear and tear of a watch buckle, just don't care enough to be angry about it LOL

I don't loose sleep over the pinstriping on the exterior, so I won't loose sleep over the interior plastic. But I'm still pissed that I couldn't get push button start/smart key for my trail!

On another note, I had my truck detailed Saturday (my friend threw up a bit on the back seat). On the way home, I ran over a small mud pothole (didn't see or feel it) and sprayed both sides of the truck with light mud. The bright side being I can hardly see the pinstriping.

The pin striping is a dealer add-on. Why did you not tell them to remove it and the price for it.

Funny story I got my SR5 delivered on the day of my marriage, and made the first scratch on it with my wedding ring...

Since then I installed clear 3M film like these on the handles and it did a great job to protect further damage :

Wrapped some of mine with 3M Dinoc and painted the rest matte black. The plastic itself is actually pretty good quality ABS plastic like all the interior plastic and won't crack at least.Cheap plastic is hard and cracks easily.

The failure is that they painted black plastic with silver paint in wear areas instead of making them out of silver ABS plastic. They should have just left them black but I fixed that!Sand the silver off and paint black,scratches thru black paint show black and are hardly noticeable.
Plastidip should work good too.

Here is a place in Florida that started out doing bike parts but they can do just about anything, as long as it can be dipped in water.

They did the dash on my bike and they have done car and truck dashes also. I have been thinking abut having them do my center dash also. I have attached a picture of the bike dash.

Yikes. Most of the automobile stuff in their site is gross and in poor taste. Just too much of it. I guess you can get an idea of what they can do but my god, who wood grains an entire dash? Just my opinion.

Here's the way it is now with most painted satin black with Krylon Fusion and just some DiNoc CF on the center console and some trim pieces.
