!#$@! Thieves

I'm so glad the first owner of my 4runner opted for the tonneau cover, since I have a camera, toolbox, and soon bunker gear for fire dept. I'm definitely getting my CCW the day I turn 21, and buying me a revolver. And I hope to set up hidden cameras inside the 4runner, don't want nobody taking my hard earned stuff.
For what it's worth I read in another thread somewhere that the tonneau cover will actually attract people to your vehicle because you're hiding something.

For this reason the back for Windows of my 4Runner are blacked out completely and you cannot see the rear passengers this is legal in my state but may not be legal in your state the front two windows were left alone

Bummer deal man....While we're on the subject of thieves. I just paid $15 for the 2 bolts and 2 nuts that hold the lateral rod on the rear diff and frame from a thieving dealer here in Prescott. New to town and I didn't feel like running around looking for a place that sold something I could match up. Dealer is fairly close so I just grinned and bared it.
Toyota Dallas or Camelback Toyota are your friends never pay retail again.

I truly believe some establishToyota parts dept at a dealerships as a business and therefore must profit at least 20% however they typically mark up 50 to 100% which should be dishonorable. Then look at it from a business perspective and remember that their state is charging them in inventory tax to have had that exact part that you needed and if they don't sell it year to year they may still pay tax for it

Thanks frodiesel...I'll keep that in mind. They had to SO those bolts, they were not in stock. But I see ur point. I just ordered all four ball joints from village toyota and saved over $80 just on the lowers. I'll check out Camelback next time since it's close...I'm assuming that's in Phoenix.

That's actually the best window to break. Super easy to fix. The worst is when they do you a "favour" and break the rear fixed side window.

Haha that's funny you mention that, just a few weeks ago during Thanksgiving in Los Angeles, my 3rd gen passenger front window got smashed into. Freakin guy took all my service records (15years worth!!!) and other things. My S/O was like "if you're gonna break in, at least break the smallest window!!" And I was like Oh no thats super hard to replace! Needless to say, she didn't believe me but oh I knew! :couch2:

Any suggestions on aftermarket alarms for a 1st gen? People keep breaking into mine every night, now they've loosened all the screws on the hard top, ready to pull it off and make a way with it!!!!
