While rushing to the airport today, I found another way to make the ECO green logo disappear, along with the Eco Bar going away too... Once you get up to 90 miles/hour, both the Eco light and the bar will go away - until you drop below 88 miles/hour.

That if you run over a pile of leaves that have been blown into the road from an over zealous lawn guy..and your rear window is open that you will pick up a significant portion of those leaves and deposit them on the inside of the vehicle. :clap2:

On my way to Nevada in August, I was cruising down a long grade on an open stretch of freeway, suddenly realized I was a doing just under 100, without even trying.

I normally cruise at 80. Even on level ground, 90 would not be difficult.

I just found out that little headrest in the backseat is adjustable. I never ride back there so how am I supposed to know?

After reading your post I went outside in the rain to see it for real. The center headrest deserves its own survey. I mean this sucker does not even lock in place in the down position, how could I have missed it after folding the rear seat down a gazillion times?

After reading yours I had to check the dumb thing again. Apparently the back headrests only have one click and lock position. The front ones obviously have a few adjustable settings...

I rarely drive at night and just noticed there are lights in the door handle on the inside. I guess the times I do drive at night I jump in and go opposed to sitting like this evening. They did turn off when put in gear.

I leave my lights on all the time. So, when locking your car using the key fob if you press the lock button twice it will turn off your headlights. This is rather than waiting for the typical 1-2 minutes before they automatically turn off.

Now i feel like i am a contributing team player :cheer2:

Owner's manual mentions it will chime if the moonroof is open (tilted or slid back), no mention of windows. A message also shows up in the center display along with the warning arrow.

I found out recently that if you are listening to music through your bluetooth (spotify connected to android phone) and then turn the 4runner off. The next time you get into the car and turn on the ignition, it will turn on the spotify app on your phone and start playing music again.

When I get in my 4runner all I have to do is adjust the volume and it starts playing my spotify music without me touching my phone.

This one is something most people probably know. That being said if you're out of the car and need to put the back window up or down you can use the key. Turning left with the key in the tailgate lowers the window. Turning right on the key automatically locks the doors and puts up the window.

It should added that using the key is not automatic, like the button in the center counsel is. If you stop holding the key over, the window stops wherever is is at the time. That is true left or right....up or down.

P.S. A thread like this on the 4th Gen Forum from a few years ago turned out to be so informative that I still have the print out. Thanks for starting this one Model T !

Discovered this feature about an hour after I accidentally opened the liftgate with a Christmas tree on top. Now I have a couple of light scratches on the top of the spoiler. I'm the only one that will notice, but I could kick myself.

I went to the dealer and they can program a few things:

1. The key into the tailgate can raise or lower the window by turning the key in it (I know that was already mentioned, but the dealer needs to activate it)

2. Dealer can activate it so when holding the "unlock" button, it will lower all side windows

3. Dealer can turn off seat belt chimes (took me 3 attempts while the first 2 times at the same dealer they told me it is "illegal")

4. My dealer never told me I had remote start but to test it, quickly push lock 3 times then hold it down the 4th time till the lights blink and it will start after that. To go along with this, unlocking or locking the car will turn off the engine

Which T4R do you have? Is remote start a Limited feature, or could it be available on an SR5 Premium? I've got a 2013, and I know the Ford dealership I bought it from didn't give a crap about features unless they came from a stock sheet.

One thing I would add that has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum but not here, is that Kleenex Junior boxes will fit perfectly in the brackets on the door of your centre console.

Kleenex Juniors were my wife's first purchase for our 13 T4R SR5. Our Walmart doesn't carry them anymore so she ordered a case from Amazon. We'll be stocking Kleenex for awhile now. If only I can convince her to add some less family-oriented mods...
