...and happy Trails ('TE') to all! I was just speaking with another forum member regarding an audio install that he's about to do and that reminded me to pass this convenient little gem on to you! It just occurred to me that so many of you are performing your own electrical accessory mods and add-ons, that I should be passing some of my own electrical tricks, short-cuts and tools over to you whenever they come to mind! 'That said'... here's a nifty lil' gadget that I think some of you'll find helpful!
Now I really don't like cutting my truck's 'factory electrical system wiring' AT ALL! But, there are times when I've had to, to complete a repair of some sort or an aftermarket equipment install! This will help to eliminate those infrequent times when you have to:

This would've been great to have had when I was installing some new 'Factory style push-button switches in my dash to operate the aftermarket fog-lights and LEDs that I installed a couple years ago! The way they work is... instead of cutting a Courtesy Interior Lighting circuit wire to feed the aftermarket accessory equipment e.g., dashboard switch "Night-glow" back light, relay circuit triggering...etc, all you do is: place the wire that you need service from in the groove and push your new accessory wire into the barrel. Then 'gently' thumb tighten the barrel head... That's it! This leaves no damage to those factory wires. And... if you ever need to take the truck in for service, you can very easily remove (Temporarily) the new accessory from the factory wiring; so ('if you're really careful'...) "no more compromising (VOID) that factory warranty!"
