Thoughts on mods

Fully acceptable, several here have done that, not that it matters. It's your vehicle, mod it as you see fit and don't worry about others acceptance of those mods. It's yours, do what makes you happy with it.
I personally don't see how being 2wd changes anything, it'll still look great with those mods.

Completely acceptable.......especially if you live in Birmingham....lol. Seriously, anything you want to do to your truck is fine. It is your truck and you have it the way you want it. I have a 2WD, but am still debating on the DS lift. One of my favorite white 4Runners, on this forum, is 2WD with a lift, tires, rack and lights.

Thanks for the input guys, I was thinking along the same lines as you all were, but like I said just wanted some other opinions, I am originally from the Trussville area but now live in Mcalla, how about you momo?

I live in the Inverness area between 65 and 280. When I do get around to installing the DS, my buddy has a really nice shop, with a lift, at his house in Mcalla, so we are going to do it there. Not sure when I am going to do it, but maybe you can come by.

Like everyone else said, it's your truck mod it how you want. Nice to see another AL runner getting lifted, I spend a lot of time in Bham, maybe I'll see you around some time.
Mine is 2WD but set up for off road, I get a ton of compliments on it and it works pretty well off road.
I think people (especially on this forum) would give you more of a hard time for lowering a 4runner than lifting a 2wd.

Totally acceptable and really who cares what others think.
My son has a 2wd F150 with a lift and 18" AT tires tinted windows and blacked out chrome. The truck looks great. It's you truck mod as you like and enjoy. Don't forget to take some pics before and after and post-em up.

I can count on two hands the number of times I've felt like I really needed to switch to 4wd (and did), and of those I probably only actually needed 4wd like twice... In 3 years & 50,000 miles.

I have 2WD, I have done some basic mods on my 4th gen, did some on my old truck, a 3rd gen, that was also 2WD.
Eh, I say go for it and mod away, I'll continue to do it and no one can convince me otherwise haha. It's your truck and an expression of you (or however you wanna look at it) so do what you want with what you have!

I am the same way. I had a 4x4 growing up and it was a money pit. It was a lot of fun, but i was always tearing up something. When i bought my 4Runner in intentionally bought a 2WD because i knew i really wouldn't need 4WD.....and I didn't want to be tempted to hit some mud....lol
