Man, don't confuse me with numbers and letters..... 3.4 V6 is a timing belt and the 2.7 4 cyl is a timing chain.
The V6 was first recommended to change the belt at 60,000 miles and around 2000 it went up to 90,000 miles. Also, the V6 is a non-interference engine, or "free running", meaning if your belt breaks you have a bad day, but your engine is not toast.
