Tire Recommendation for 2006 T4R Limited 4X4 (265 60 R18)

I need to replace my OEM Duelers after 25,000 miles.

I am looking for a tire that wears better. On my former 04 T4R, I had a set a Revos and while they were decent tires, they produced a lot of road noise. Also, the Revos do not come in my tire size, as my 2006 T4R has 18" wheels, instead of the 17" wheels on my 2004.

Could someone please recommend a tire that they have had good experience? I don't do a whole lot of offroad, but at the same time, I occasionally drive in sand dunes and in snow. My dealer recommended the BF Goodrich AT's. Anyone have good or bad things to say about them?

the bfg's have been great. i have put about 2000 miles on them with no complaints. with the 18 inch rims i decided i needed the spacers in the front and looking at the clearence i have now it was a good idea. i have a feeling that without the spacers that i would have a rubbing problem. other than that they are great tires! hope this helps.

Michelin Cross-Terrains!

I just posted my experience. The typicaly road and highway bumps are non-existent, the road noise has been reduced signficantly, and they handle effortlessly. Best tires I have had. It is like having a new 4runner and they were just as good on our local trails.

Lucas, what spacers did you go with? Also, do you have before and after pics? wondering if a 1", 2" or 3" front lift would be better. I want enough clearance but don't want the tires to look too small with a lift.

I have an 07 LTD with stock 265/60/R18's and I am also wondering about putting on the 265/65/R18 BFG AT's.

What kind/size spacers did you use? Any pics?

looks very nice. the lift difference isn't too noticeable esp. since the new tires are a littled bit bigger. Fills in nicely. Seeing your set-up, I think i'll get a 2/1 lift. Thanks for the pics.

Just got the Michelin LTX/AT2s

Coming from the Stock Bridgestones, they look a little more aggressive than I'm used to but in a good way.

Initial impressions:

A bit more "squishy" than the Bridgestones. Steering reponse is 5-10% slower and noise is slightly up as well. But still relatively quiet considering the aggressive tread.

BFG 265/65R18's instead of 265/60R18's

I've noticed that a couple of the guys here have swapped their stock 265/60R18's for aftermarket 265/65R186's - does this REQUIRE a spacer or is it just done to enhance the look?

I've noticed that there are very few Really Good All-Terrains fot the stock 265-60 size.

I feel like that the only thing missing from this forum is an answer to this question: Will 265/65/r18 BFG AT/KO fit on stock suspension? I have scoured this forum and i am assuming they will. I know that people are running 265/70/r17 BFG AT/KO, and the two tires are almost the exact same size. Please someone help

any brand tire that is not over 32 in. will work with stock suspension.

So then the LT265/65/r18 should be fine because the BFG website is stating a height of 31.7". I have read people speculating that these would rub. I would hate to spend over a grand on these tires only to find they rub. Thoughts?

It should be the exact same story as the BFG 265/70/17. Minor UCA rubbing with the wheel cut all the way. Most don't worry about it as it rubs on a smooth, solid area. It's unlikely you'll have fenderliner rubbing. If you do it's an easy fix. One of these two posts will fix it.

There's no doubt they'll work with a trim (as outlined in J.A.'s thread) and the wheelspacers he has... And your right, it doesn't seem as though there's as much talk about the 18's.

has anyone done the 265/65/18 BFG AT's with no lift or spacers yet? It seems like at least one person would've done this. I'm interested to know if this works and see pics of how it looks.
