Tire size confusion.

Oh man.

I've been dreaming for awhile about stepping up to the next tire size (265/70R17) after adding my small Daystar 1" leveling kit.

I even figured when I was ready, I'd change to a Daystar 2.5/1.5.

BUT, I was checking tire pressures tonight, and noticed that my stupid uniroyals are ALREADY 265/70R17.

So, I have two questions.

1) What pressure should I be filling these to? The door jam says 32 psi for 265/65R17.

2) What's a good size tire I can put in with a daystar 2.5/1.5?

3) How come matt's 265/70R17s look so much bigger than mine?

32-35 psi

265/70R17 or 255/75R17

3) How come matt's 265/70R17s look so much bigger than mine?

He has a more aggressive tread pattern making the tire stand out more.

According to the specs on the interwebz the Uniroyals are 31.7 vs 31.8 for BFG, so there's not much difference in diameter, I think it's probably the more aggressive & squared off shoulder on the BFG ATs

I think you could run 275/70s with a little trimming but still only 265/70s without trimming but I'm not sure I'm basing it on my 265s with ~1.70"/.25"

I love my 255/75/17s. Just the right size when paired with the Daystar 2.5/1.5. You have a lot of options depending on how much you want to spend.
